8 weeks pregnant - upcoming wedding!

I'm 8 weeks pregnant. We have an upcoming wedding in 3 weeks time (so I'll be 11 weeks when we go).

I didn't realise until today.... my abdomen has drastically changed already. I live in scrubs and pyjamas. So, fine, it is what it is. Bloat has hit hard, made me look 6 months pregnant already. Can't change it.

But this is my first time being pregnant. And I'm now a bit self conscious. Every dress in my wardrobe is giving the same effect. And I have no doubt all the others currently on their way to me will too.

Do I just look "fat"? My friend has advised some pregnancy shapewear so I've ordered that. Is that okay? Any other advise? 😫

Side and downward view provided..... (I also have the wrong bra on for this dress - work bra, so I'm not held up right. But that's easily fixed!!). I'm breathing in on the front and side view, downward view is relaxed and you can see how big it is already.

Thank you ladies 💛

I personally say wear that bump proud girl, you don’t look fat! You’re gorgeous just the way you are!

You look lovely! You have a cute bump. If you’re self conscious try some shaping under garments or something that doesn’t emphasise your bump as much ? If I’m not 100 percent confident and comfortable in clothes it ruins my day so deffo have a little try x

I showed super early and felt the same! I kinda felt embarrassed when people were like oh only 10 weeks! But then I just thought well, I just get to be notably pregnant for longer and I quite liked it. My friend literally didn't show until she was about 7 months and even then she looked like she'd had large dinner and she HATED it, was jealous of the bump!

Dress looks lovely, enjoy the awwww she's expecting glances for that little bit longer than you expected too x

You need to wear underwear that is less tight and if you’re comfortable with thongs even better

Girl I’m 8 weeks and feel the same way! The bloat is so real. The dress is cute though. I agree with your friends, the right undergarments and shapewear will smooth it out and make the bump look more like a baby bump and less like bloat.

Birth 11 days overdue

Posting this to give the overdue girlies some hope!
I was on the list for induction from 10 days overdue. They called at 9 and 10 days, I declined going in both times. I went into labour spontaneously at 41+3 and had my baby boy 12 hours later at 41+4 (born on the day of the solar eclipse and meteor shower - so special). I had started to lose hope because I had my daughter spontaneously at 40+4 in October 2023, but ultimately I trusted my body to bring him earth side when the time was right 🤍 you’ve got this girls.

Maternity triage / midwife pushback

If feel like every time I’ve called they just push back, I called today after my sister who is a nurse told me contact the maternity so that they could monitor my blood pressure as I put up 1.6kg in 6days and that’s quite a lot for me compare to my normal weight gain so far as I’ve put 12kg total since pregnant (now 36+5).

So I called and the person I got on the phone said they ignore weight gain completely as it’s not an indicator of anything, she didn’t ask me about any other symptoms either and when I said if I was to put up another 1kg in 3 days should I worry, she said no they don’t need to know about it…

They always said to call if we have questions or worries but then every time I’ve called they don’t want to hear about it.

Also baby is already estimated to be 80th percentile before that weight intake.

Pregnant again!

We are pregnant with our second baby and although I really want a second baby, mostly for our first baby, I am freaking out. We’ve just hit a sweet spot at 23 months and we’ll be starting over again in 9 months. I thought I’d be more excited but I’m stressed! And my husband feels worried that our relationship will struggle which worries me too.

Just need to get it off my chest and would love to hear from anyone with two or who’s just found out they are pregnant.

When to buy things

So this is my first baby, im so excited to go start buying everything!
I'm 21 weeks, and in my head it's too soon but I'm also stressing about leaving everything too late.
The reason it's too soon is bacause
1. I don't know what I'm doing, I might buy the wrong things and then can't return them
2. I feel like I'm tempting fate, like something bad will happen
3. I don't know what other people are going to buy for her

Do other people think like this?! 😅

My baby girl is here!

She arrived yesterday, 15th August 2026 via c-section due to baby being breech. It was an amazing experience from start to finish. Good luck to all the rest of you that is going to have an August 2026 baby! Also thank you to everyone that has commented, gave me advice on previous posts that I've put on here..
