Is it normal?

My kid gives us push back almost every night about taking a shower. He will tell us no, or I don’t wanna, and will whine and sometimes angrily say no and stomp his feet. We have to pretty much be stern and use our mean voices before he goes sometimes. Is this normal, or a behavior issue??

My daughter is 8 and still tells me she doesn’t want to. It’s not an everyday thing but 6/10 she’s asking “do I have to”. I find it normal since sometimes I don’t even wanna take a shower cuz I’m tired.

I don’t always have the energy. This sounds strange but some days…trying to take a shower while tired feels like trying to run a surprise 10k marathon. I logically know that it’s not. But the amount of tasks to do to clean myself…while standing…WHILE tired….I just skip.
Maybe offer two choices, do you want to take a shower or a bath?
I just remember that if something is taxing for me, it can be taxing for a child. Them being younger, doesn’t mean they don’t get tired. They just may not be able to express it any other way than “throwing a tantrum”

Depends on the child my 8 year old doesn’t like to shower and barely bathes. My 3 year loves to shower and looks at her clean self in the mirror.

It's totally normal. Kids are looking for body autonomy and wants to decide what they do or not with their own body. I would offer options so they get to decide something over it. Like, shower or bath? This soap or this one? You prefer to wash your hair today or tomorrow? ...

This was 6 weeks Post Partum on my first girls trip, although I looked the part it didn’t feel the same. Thought of leaving my baby girl and the sleep deprivation.

Felt like going into back hibernation 😭

Navigating politics as a mother

Has anyone really struggled meeting mum friends because of political concerns? I have always been very left wing ( pro palestine , supporting trans/gay rights , anti racism) and even more so after having a baby because I feel like i’m even more passionate to have a kind world for our children . I get a little worried when i meet other mums at baby groups that i’ll find out they’re actually right wing or against a lot of the morals i hold and i wouldn’t be able to keep that around my child . Not sure if it’s normal to feel so strongly about politics around my baby.
But also if it makes me uncomfortable then that’s also an issue i guess ?

VACCINATIONS

Is anyone’s baby not having their jabs? Or does anyone know anyone who has made the decision not to?
Unsure whether to take her.. unsure whether I trust them.

"Fart Corner" in your child's classroom?

How do you feel about a "Fart Corner" or "Gas Station" in your child's classroom, a designated corner of the room where students are expected to go fart in when they need to and use air freshener afterwards?

FIL gave baby a bottle cap to play with

My FIL came over and was drinking bottled water, the kind with a cap and as he was holding the cap my baby walked over to him and wanted to take it out of his hand. FIL goes “here you can play with it!” and hands the cap to my baby. WTF are these old folks smoking?!!! Thankfully my husband swooped in at the right time and said “no we do not play with those” and took it away but jeez lol
