Unused Diapers

What can be done with unused diapers??
I have like ten boxes from my baby shower of various sizes that are still taped in the box

I would google local pregnancy resource centers near you and donate them!

If they are still packed (not opened) I donated mine to the local hospital children’s ward, they really appreciated them!

You can return them at Walmart ! I brought all of mine back there except the ones in obvious Amazon boxes. They gave me cash back. Worst case you get store credit

I believe you can also do this with target and get a store credit and put it towards new diapers when you need them. If I had opened boxes you can see if shelters or friends want them. I had some that I gave to a co worker who was having a baby a few months after I had my daughter.

Bedtime nappies

Our little boy has started sleeping through the night but as a result his nappy is rather full on the morning and leaking. We currently use pampers and they have been perfect up until now anyone got any recommendations of nappies to try!

Baby slept all night 🌙🥳

Baby is 11 weeks tomorrow, and he slept through the whole night for the first time last night (in his own bed!) 💙

His dad and I were cheering and celebrating this morning!

Let's hope this is just the beginning of sleeping like this and not just a one-off 🤞

Not doing enough?!

Does anyone else feel like they are not doing enough with their baby? Mine is 5 weeks old today and as an example I’ve just got him in his cot with no visual stimulation as I’m trying to get him to nap but it’s been like 30 mins and he’s still awake and I’m thinking - is he bored?! But I just want a lil nap for him so I can get a couple bits done! I find the days go by in such a blur and by the end I feel guilty that I didn’t give him enough “play time” with like black and white sensory things or visual stimulation. I’m worried I’m setting him up for failure at only 5 weeks old looool. Please tell me I’m not the only one!

Eye tracking and looking at hands

Hiya, my little one is 4 weeks old and isn’t yet tracking with his eyes or looking at his hands. He has just started to look at our faces but only for a few seconds then just looks around the room or past us. Anyone else’s buba like this?

Would you correct someone else’s pronunciation for your child? How do you feel about regional/international accents?

I bumped into a mother I know at a coffee shop. I have an unusual accent, because I’m ESL and I immigrated to the UK when I was 14 so I picked up a lot of london pronunciations but I don’t generally have trouble being understood.

Her son doesn’t have any speech issues or anything, he’s got a great vocabulary for 4. He is very friendly so he talks to me when we see them at the park or soft play, and he always seems to understand me.

I was speaking to my child in English and then suddenly I realised the other mother was correcting words I said for her son? I asked my daughter “do you want some water?” which I guess is like dyu wan some wata if I just say it quickly without thinking, and she said quite loudly “we would say WA-TER, do you WANT some WATER” and made him repeat it back twice.

Other words I heard her correct were cloth and cheeky girl, then I started to get self conscious and making an effort to enunciate better. I was so embarrassed, she was speaking quite loudly so she must have known I could hear her. But I like my accent, it still sounds a bit like where I come from. I don’t mind if my daughter hears it and learns it, my heritage is her heritage. We only see this woman occasionally (she’s a bit condescending so I try to avoid play dates) so I doubt my accent is rubbing off on her son.

It’s been a couple days and this is still sitting with me. It feels so out of line to do that in front of the person unprompted. As long as people understand each other, does it matter?
