My son is 13 months today and babbles more than speaks! He says mama, dada, nana and gandad (grandad) but nothing else. He starts nursery mid September. Each toddler is different, try not to worry so much. He'll form more words when he's ready xx

Your son sounds pretty normal to me? My 13 month old is the same, no words yet but babbles a lot and can understand some words.

My girl is exactly the same, she doesn’t say anything clearly defined as a word. I’m so not worried by this as i feel she’s literally following in my sisters footsteps. My daughter points at quite literally everything she wants (as did my sister) and my sister never said a single word until she was basically 2 where she came out with sentences. As if she banked everything up x

My almost 13 months old is the same! Mama, vava, bwa, dada, coos, buh, but comprehends when I tell him something like, you want to drink some water? Give that to mummy? Where’s your vroom vroom ( and points to his cars), etc.

My little man is the same as hannahs

Mama, dada, nanna, ya and duck and other than that its all hust nonsense but he starts Nursery in 2 weeks!

Its fairly common for them to mostly just babble at this age!

1-3 words is the norm for this age, so you're right on track.

My mum made a good analogy the other day, saying that it's like us learning another language where you understand more stuff than you can say.
