I currently work 4 days a week and am lucky to have childcare from my parents 2 days a week so he’s only in nursery 2 days a week at the moment.
However, I’m looking at changing jobs and finding something else that will offer 4 days a week at a good salary feels unlikely so sad about the possibility of losing 1 day a week with my son and spending more to put him in nursery an extra day a week.
On the flip side, it feels like every other mum I know either works part time or is giving up work altogether to parent. I feel so jealous but the math just doesn’t add up for us to do something similar.
How do you find the balance between work and mum life? If you work full time, how do you find it?

I hate it :( currently using my annual leave to make myself part time. Take a couple of days off a week. And my partner works part time. We have no child care and don't have him in nursery.

I work full time over 4.5 days but that’s just the working pattern for my office - we all work longer mon to Thursday. Both kids in nursery 3 days and then use parents for the remaining 1.5 days.
I personally really enjoy it - but I like my job and the people and I like being myself. I’m not built to be a stay at home parent and some people are. We are all different ☺️

I work 5 days a week and we have no family support in routine child care due to distance and health.
I am strict to follow my hours. My career will continue to progress, maybe slower, but my son will grow faster
Chores, meal prep, laundry etc happen after bedtime. Husband and I swap bedtime each night and complete the jobs. Then we split evenings - some nights we have time to be ourselves, meet friends, go the gym etc and some nights we are a couple.
Is it hard - yes, is there mum guilt - yes, are we tired - absolutely!
But we make the most of every weekend and the hours in the evening.
