I’m a first time mum-to-be and have been eating so bad throughout the first trimester due to morning sickness and craving the worst foods. Now I’m trying to eat better and prevent excessive weight gain (above recommended) any advice or tips?
I also work pretty stationary so it’s hard to get usual movement day to day

Gaining too little weight can actually be a bit more risky than gaining a little bit too much, Emily Oster explained this well in “expecting better”. Exercise is definitely important and will help with other symptoms like PGP as well. And I try to make my main meals nutritious and healthy so that I get less cravings in general :) I gained quite a bit in my first pregnancy (and a bit more now in my second) but no one ever said anything and it came off within the first 12-18m pp. I think it’s also underestimated how much weight is water retention and boob!

Just eating normal and listening to what my body wants. Somedays that means treats and other days it means normal eating! Also staying active (like the same level you were before you were pregnant) .. I gained 55lbs with my first pregnancy (I had a low BMI to begin with) and that weight was gained with me just eating normal and moving my body like I typically would. Now with my second pregnancy, I seriously have not tracked a single pound and am following the same routines I have always done. Your body knows what it supposed to gain so long as you don’t over indulge and listen to it, you will gain what you need too!
39 weeks today and desperate to avoid intervention. Anything you’re convinced triggered labour, I’m all ears 👂 👶🏻

I’ve gone fully body insecurity to the point I don’t even feel comfortable in my own clothes but I weigh less than I did before I was bloody pregnant 😂🤦♀️ at what point do you start to feel like yourself again currently 11 weeks postpartum
