2 year old gifts

Hey!
I’m trying to figure out what’s the best birthday gifts for my almost 2 year old.

He has a trike, sports centre and car sets which he loves but looking for some ideas that will grow with him we don’t have a lot of room so staying away from play kitchens.

Love to hear what everyone got/ planning to get.

Mine got a car garage, some balance stacker blocks, animal figures, dinos, horses and some bing figures. Books. A playhouse for the garden.

We got our little one this flat play kitchen/hob as we have limited space too and it can be stored easily https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/stenmus-mini-play-kitchen-white-black-60583622/ We also got him a Yoto player, it took a few weeks for him to get it but now he loves listening to stories with it! Some other family members also got him Duplo which has been great, he can’t build with it yet but will learn to play with it in different ways as he grows.

Tonie box doesn’t take up much room and grows with them

We got a tonies box, I found a cheap one on vinted because I wasn’t sure how interested he would be but he loves it and it’s really reduced his screen time!

Mine got a party with a peppa pig bouncy castle off us, from everyone else a slide, little trampoline, easel, dressing up things, interactive and learning toys

Fresh ideas needed!

I am needing new ideas for snacks and meals for my 18 month old. He's typically a pretty good eater but we struggle getting him to eat protein. Looking for some healthy high protein/ high fat ideas that might not end up on the floor 😆.
No allergies and the only things he really refuses are eggs, and any kind of unground meat.

Flying alone with a 13 months old

Hello ladies. I am scheduled to travel alone with my son this October on a 14 hour flight.

Looking for tips specifically on below:-
- navigating airport. I suppose it’s not possible to bring a cabin trolley luggage since I have to push a stroller at the same time. How to pack baby essentials?
- on flight - the flight will take off at 9pm. What time should I put my son to sleep? What do I entertain him on a 14 hour flight?
- any other thoughts / recommendations?

Am I a bad mom?

My husband and I are going on a cruise this weekend. I saw that my son was potentially unable to go because we couldn't get his passport on time. I got excited. SO excited. I love my son more than life itself.. but a 4 day vacation without him felt like paradise...

Until my cousin told my husband that we could just use his birth certificate. I was so pissed and frustrated. This vacation is costing us $2000+. I wanted to be able to enjoy it. Now I feel ungrateful and a bad mom knowing he'll be coming. He's 4.. and severely hyperactive. I won't enjoy myself at all. Literally all I'm looking forward to now is the unlimited liquor 😂😅.

I'm also an introvert. I'm going with my family. *Heavily extroverted people*

I hate myself for wishing he wouldn't be there.. am I alone on this?

12 month jabs

Hi looking for some mum advice!

My little boy has his 12 month jab today and my husband is on annual leave for the next two weeks and wants to book a holiday for us to go away.

I’m nervous anyway as will be first abroad holiday but now hearing stories about the side effects of the jabs and wondering whether the timing is awful for my little boy.

Would you go on holiday (Spain most likely) in the days after the 1 year jabs or is that just asking for trouble?

Night away? Guilting myself to feel like a bad mom for being away with dad

Hi moms - need some advice. Me and partner are in desperate need to have just the one night together.

We love our daughter so dearly we don’t want to leave her, but obviously after one year of not sleeping together only us in the same bed we miss each other a lot. Even our wedding night we shared a bed with her as she was so young - so no wedding sex 🤣

We sleep with her and she is our everything. But we are also a couple, and we both see and feel the need for just us time.

Just everytime I think about the thought of leaving her for the night (with grandparents who know her so well), I feel guilty! How did you handle the situation of night away from your baby? Like, without thinking about them the entire time!
