Hey, I am being induced closer to my due date and the consultant has mentioned using the balloon for induction. I had a pessary when induced with my second.
Anyone had both methods and can tell me how different those labours were or wasn’t? 🩷

I’ve been told I’m having the pessary on Wednesday and then a gel afterwards (if needed) then the drip (if needed). They didn’t even suggest the balloon for me🤔I wonder what causes them to choose certain ones

I had only cervidil done with my second, then the next morning they broke my waters. With my third, they did cervidil in the morning, pulled it out in the evening and once they pulled it out they did the balloon. I slept with this in for the night, and in the morning the removed it and broke my waters. I googled balloon, and got pretty worked up and anxious about it, which I shouldn’t have. It’s uncomfortable when they put it in, but they offered me pain relief which I didn’t take, just some Panadol back at my bed. When they broke my waters next morning, I wasn’t really feeling much contractions, so they hooked me up to the drip and that really cranked things up. I was all confused why they were doing things this way and not how it happened last time, but I think it was because my body was more prepared to have baby with my second, whereas my third needed that little bit extra. Try not to stress 🫶

I just got told today that I’m being induced next week🤭 they’re going to start me with the pessary and then move onto the balloon method if things don’t progress. Hope all goes well🩷🩵

following as i’m being induced saturday and they’ve told me to have a think about if i want the balloon or pessary, has the pessary with my first so im unsure what to expect with the balloon 🥲

I’m a bit confused I just got given a booklet and I think I’m supposed to pick on the day

I had both with my first pregnancy. The pessary starts giving you contractions in the hope your body takes over. But for me they started towards the end of the time and then stopped and soon as it came out. Then I had the balloon which was really painful and didn't do anything towards starting labour but it just opened the cervix so they could burst my waters. Then I had the hormone drip which is what actually worked to get the labour going. Good luck, hope it goes well!

Im in hospital being induced i was given pessary that didnt really work now i am given tablets every 2 hours seems there is so many different methods

It depends if you want a non hormonal induction method - the balloon catheter, dilapan rods and a stretch and sweep are all to do with pressure on the cervix. The pessary, gel and drip are all artificial hormone induction methods.
Personal preference I think tbh!
I had my daughter a 8 months ago, I told my husband that always had a baby girl named picked out since I was about 13 years old. And he was OK with it. He just changed the spelling which I’m not a huge fan but I still love her name.
Her first name is Sunni middle name Ella Rae. I don’t really love the Ella part or how Sunni is spelled I think it should be spelled as Sunnie so it makes more sense. A few people have commented on it, aka my mother-in-law to be specific. Did I choose a real name for my daughter?

I got into a car accident two days ago. I got abdominal pain couple hours after, so I went to the hospital, they checked me over and said everything seemed fine. I’ve had no bleeding and no pain since. However I have no pregnancy symptoms anymore. I’m 12 weeks and have another scan booked in for tomorrow. Am I over thinking this or can this be normal for how far along I am now ??!

So it's my last week at work and I need to tell the team today that I'm preggers and won't see them for a year.
I'm not close to anyone in my team, so not too fussed.
But uggh I find these convos so awkward.
If it was up to me I'd leave it to the last day and send a message. But my manager kept asking when I would tell the team.
