I’m so nervous to do it. I have been up most of the night with anxiety. Can I just prick myself and change my diet ? Asking for advice please.

Are you nervous for the test or the result?
I’ve got mine this morning too. People make out it’s awful but it is a blood test and a drink. It was like flat lucozade in my last pregnancy. It wasn’t bad x

Had mine yesterday, the drink is fine like an off brand carpri sun. It did make me feel mildly sick but that could be the not eating.
As far as I'm aware if it does come back positive then your right it's self testing, diet change and more regular checks from the midwife team. It's not ideal but not long for us to go!

Yeah I agree people make it out to be horrible. Honestly the worst bit is waiting two hours but bring headphones and download a film and it'll fly by

I don’t know why people make out it’s bad, the drink is literally orange juice and then a 2 hour wait (bring book or headphones etc!) i cannot wait for mine as its 2 house peace away from work/toddler mum life😂

I had mine last Friday, and was equally as anxious. I didn’t have to have one for my first, so this was totally new to me.
Honestly nothing to stress about, the drink itself is orange flavoured and like a capri sun. Didn’t feel ill or anything once I’d taken it. The worst part was waiting for 2 hours in the hospital. I took a book.
I’m still waiting on my results which is the nerve wracking part! Just want to know. 🙈

Its not bad the test at all, however after i felt so shaky, sick, tired and warm as she had advised you would take a dip. I slept once i got home for 4 hours. I personally wouldnt take the test again for my 2nd x

I have mine next week. Im more nervous about the result than anything else, purely because I love my food and im rubbish at monitoring everything single thing I eat 😂

It honestly isn't too bad x you have a fasting bloods taken, then you have your drink ( very sweet but manageable- I'm not a fan of overly sweet things so made me feel a little sick for few min) then after 2 hours you have another blood test x they do ask not to move around too much so it doesn't mess with the result x I did have a bad headache after but went away once I had a proper meal! Xx honestly wasn't as bad as I thought and I was super worried as well x just make sure you have stuff with you to keep you occupied for the 2 hours x thankfully my results were all normal :)
Hi everyone!
I'm about 8-9 weeks pregnant, and have just eaten a Brie, bacon and chilli chutney sandwich from Sainsburys, and I completely forgot until I finished eating it and looked on the packaging where it says "expectant mothers should avoid eating this cheese" 😩
Will I (and 👶🏻) be okay??
Anyone else had the same experience and everything's been absolutely fine?

Feeling really bummed out that despite the intense exercise/diet, physio, whatever other hoop I needed to jump through, I have been labelled high risk for my second pregnancy yesterday at my booking appointment.
I understand it is to do with the 3b tear I had in pregnancy #1 but I just feel so depressed by it. I was told at debrief and initially after birth this wasn't a risk factor and I wouldn't instantly be high risk because of it and now I am.
Feel like the high risk label on my notes is like a shame sticker and worry instigator all in one. At debrief I was told I could have elective C section or vaginal birth, but as soon as that label went down, I can't stop worrying about making the wrong decision. In my head, I choose vaginal and I'll have a third or fourth degree tear with incontinence complications. If I choose elective, I'll have diactis recti and other complications. Feel like whatever I do, I can't win.
Took all the joy out of being newly pregnant again. Last time I was so anxious, I really wanted to enjoy the experience as much as I could with this being my last and I just feel so disheartened.
Is anyone else high risk? How are you managing it? X

I just did my nipt test this week so I’m waiting on the results but I’m almost 80% sure I’m having a girl due to my symptoms.
