Is anyone else’s 4 year olds just being really difficult lately? All I seem to get is hit, kicked, punched, bitten, scratched you name it if she can do it she’ll do it especially when she’s not getting her own way. One example is I told her she’s not having any sweets at the weekend because her behaviour has been absolutely ATROCIOUS the last few days (she literally used me as a human punching bag the last couple of nights at bedtime) and again she went to bite me, she hit me and she scratched me and it’s getting to the point where I won’t tolerate her being like this or using me as a human punching bag just because she’s frustrated and isn’t getting what she wants (she can verbally express her feelings as well for reference). All I want to know is are there any other parents out there in the same position as me or does my 4 year old just love being physically mean to me constantly

I promise your not alone my 4 year old boy is doing the exact same thing it’s heartbreaking because I feel like he hates me but he can’t express his emotions well either so I think he is frustrated that he can’t communicate as well as others

my little one is very good at expressing emotions so she’ll say whether she’s happy, sad, angry etc cause she will happily tell you that. I just hate how physical she’s been getting recently so with things like hitting, biting, scratching etc along with throwing things at me (so her toys, toothbrush, teddies etc) and most of the time it’s because she’s not getting her own way. She is also starting school very soon so I don’t want her acting like this at school and I want her to understand that the kinda behaviour she’s showing right now won’t be tolerated at school and they won’t accept it and she will have some sort of consequence because of it (at home we use time out in her bedroom for 5 minutes as the consequence to her bad behaviour). It’s just difficult cause she NEVER seems to treat my partner the way she treats me, she’ll also apologise for her behaviour but then do it again 30 seconds later which of course frustrates me as it seems like she didn’t mean her apology

as she will just do the naughty behaviour again. It’s just so frustrating and I have no idea how to handle it and I don’t exactly wanna walk around on eggshells worried about how she might react or what might set off a temper tantrum with violent behaviour but I sometimes feel like that’s what I have to do

I do move away from my little one when she’s hitting, scratching, biting etc but the only problem with that is she will literally follow me round the house WHILE continuing to do the hitting, biting, scratching etc

Going through the same. They’re experiencing some serious emotional dysregulation and don’t have the physical brain development to be able to deal with it just yet.
It’s a hard situation to navigate as I can’t talk her down or do any breathing exercises etc, and even when I walk away (for my own safety) she’ll follow while continuing to hit and kick me. I practice authoritative parenting so lots of limits, boundaries and compassion, but nothing seems to get through atm.

see I’ll walk away when my little one starts hitting or biting but just like you, my little one will follow me while hitting me and biting me is so frustrating and I’m fed up of feeling like I’ve gotta walk around on eggshells so I don’t do or say anything which may provoke that kind of behaviour
Im at sahm with a 19 month old who cosleeps naps and bedtime. So i literally never without her. I can't do anything in peace which has now resulted in constipation because the girl never gives me a break and whenever I need a poo she decides to have a meltdown so hence the constipation. She won't independently play and even TV doesn't captivate her. Help!

Any tips on just getting out more with the baby? She is 3 months old and fights her naps terribly, so once she’s tired she will just scream and in the house I have to stand and rock her so I worry about going out because she will scream in the car and when out in public but I’m going crazy being in the house or just wandering around the streets. It’s really starting to affect me 😢

Going through 4 month regression and I’m so tired. I want to co sleep but my baby was born at 36 weeks. So the advice is not to co sleep. I don’t know what to do

Hi mummas, I’m just wondering if anyone else feels this way since becoming a mum.
How do you feel when it comes to receiving advice from family, friends or other people about your baby and the way you parent?
I completely understand that most people mean well, and sometimes advice can genuinely be helpful. But I’ve noticed that when I’m constantly being told what I should or shouldn’t be doing, or hearing things like “you should do this,” “try this,” or “I used to do it this way,” I can start to feel really frustrated and overwhelmed.
Sometimes I don’t necessarily want advice—I just want to be able to talk about something without feeling like I need to change what I’m doing. I also feel like constantly hearing other people’s opinions can sometimes make you second-guess yourself as a mum, even when you were originally confident in your own decision.
I’m curious whether other mums feel the same way. Do you usually appreciate advice and take it on board, or do you sometimes find yourself becoming frustrated by it? Have you found that becoming a mum has made you want more space to figure things out for yourself and trust your own instincts?
No judgement either way—I’d genuinely love to hear how other mums feel about this.

My 5 week old is unbelievably noisy while asleep so much so I can’t sleep myself, when do they start to get quieter? Google is saying 3 months 🥴

Anyone any tips for preventing this? He’s just turned 4 months and keeps rolling to his side in his sleep and walking up really unsettled, I try put him on his back and he just goes straight back over, I’m obviously worried about suffocation if he can’t one day manage to get himself back on his back
