Natural labour

Can you recommend what people have done that seemed to work to try to induce labour naturally?
Been eating dates, drinking raspberry leaf tea, using my ball, curb walking (when it wasn't torrential rain)

Honestly you can try everything under the sun and baby will come when they are ready! Dates and raspberry leaf tea don’t induce labour, they just “supposedly” help to soften and ripen the uterine muscles which in turn can make the second stage of labour shorter, but there’s minimal evidence to back this up. Curb walking and using your ball will help baby get into the right position but won’t necessarily kick start labour.

Doing things that boost your oxytocin might help such as watching your favourite tv show or movie, listening to music that makes you feel good, nipple stimulation / harvesting colostrum and sex. Sex might also help as semen contains prostaglandins.

Seconding what Steph has said. Your body will only go into labour once everything is ready e.g. Cervix is effaced and dilated, the right hormones are being released, and baby is ready to come out.

None of the "techniques" you see can make those things happen. Some can help with certain aspects of it, for example as Steph has said, oxytocin is needed for labour so boosting that could help, but only if everything else was ready and it was just the oxytocin waiting to go.

I’ve read that acupuncture can help!
