Hey guys,
My baby is 7 weeks old today. He has gone from having 3-4 dirty nappies a day to pooing every 12-24 hours just the once. When he does poo, it’s been super watery/runny but still dark mustard colour. He strains all day and night until this poo comes seeming really uncomfortable. Has anyone got any tips for this or experienced the same thing?
I have tried infacol and have now moved over to gripe water which he won’t really take to and I don’t want to force it. (Bottle fed baby)

They say they can go 4 days without pooing if bottle fed. Maybe try a warm bath, bicycle legs and tummy rubs.

I asked my health visitor as had the same. Apparently totally normal. They really grunt and strain and then it comes out soft. Its their digestive system maturing. Not sure if it applies to formula fed babies, because mine is breast fed, but if in doubt ask your gp or health visitor.

I had similar experiences with the grunting and seeming uncomfortable but not the runny poo part. health visitor told me it’s normal where as the GP didn’t. My little didn’t like infacol and gripe water so i now use detenox colic drops which you can put in there bottle which I do as my son is formula fed. My GP is also looking at cows milk allergy/ colic. Hope this helps

This is happening to my baby boy too he’s 6 weeks old today he gets so so upset and red in the face whilst straining and once he’s been he’s like a new baby! I’ve tried everything even went doctors because I was super paranoid but got no help. I’ve even changed milks and nothings worked x
What age did you transition your babies from sleep bags to a duvet and pillow?

It’s incredibly difficult to stay awake while breastfeeding the baby at night. Sometimes I fall asleep with him on my chest and it’s so dangerous. I don’t know how to avoid it but I also have to keep him on my chest after feeds due to reflux.

Ok, something I have never thought I’d have to post and ask. But idk what to do. I get exploration is normal at this age, (just turned 2 a month ago) and at first it was digging in his diaper. But then at bath he keeps sticking his fingers in his butt hole, and not just a little. I caught him the other day about to try to put a toy in there. I continue to tell him that is ouchy and can get sick or hurt as he obviously still sticks his hands in his mouth as well. I also tell him that he can play with his toes or belly button instead but he just ignores me. I’m worried he is going to hurt himself among other things.
Anyone else’s child did/does this? Will he just stop one day? Any solutions? I’m at a loss here 🫠

So I will be starting work on the 9th of September after 3 and a half years, and I feel guilty of leaving my daughter in the daycare. And I am just overthinking everything, what if she cries a lot, what if she doesn’t eat a lot and etc.
Is this normal or am I just overreacting.

Do you really get down on the floor to play with your baby (not crawling yet) for more than 2 mins? It's so uncomfortable for me and also I don't know how to play with my young baby for more than 2mins at a time!?

I’m fully aware babies still need lots of contact naps at the moment, however when I try and transfer him he just wakes instantly and if my partner does, he continues to sleep! Anyone else experiencing this, it’s so frustrating
