Do you think it's within reason to expect your husband to help you financially when you go on maternity leave and your personal income is significant lower/ giving money for grocery or stuff for baby?
And if you have extended your maternity with unpaid leave should husband give you money to cover your own bills including credit card? Or because thats your own debt he shouldn't contribute?
For Context I'm now not getting any pay for the next 3 months and he has not offered to give me any money but I have personal bill/credit card to pay. Even in the 9 months he has not once asked if needed money or when I buy things for baby he hasn't asked if I need the money.
I considered applying for UC as I can't rely on him financial but he earns too much so I probably won't get it ..
just wanted to see what other people's situation is like? I hate not being independent and ask for financial help but that's the situation I am in now

This is I guess what we are all going through š it is the hardest and most uncomfortable thing to do- ASKING FOR MONEYš„¹ i also need some advice on that

Yes, I do. Itās not his and my money, itās just all ours. I have access to all the accounts and just use my own card on the joints.
When I was on maternity leave I put everything in the pot and just used what I needed.
Now Iām a SAHM, he puts into my private pension monthly and my savings/bonds.
The end goal is to retire together with joint assets and investments and live a long life. Makes no sense to have one half of the team struggling and then suffering in later life.

Hey Sarah, I think many women are struggling on how to have that conversation where they could get their monthly allowance. Because unless they get asked not many men want to send.

Iām a stay at home mum and my partner pays all the bills including mine. We donāt have set money for each of us it just goes in one account and we both spend from that. I have said a few times Iām happy to work and contribute to the bills but he would rather i stay with my son as we have No alternative form of childcare and if I were working our son would have to go nursery full time which would cost near enough my entire wage

Iām sorry but this is so foreign to me. Not only in my own relationship, but even for all my relatives. I donāt understand how you go into a marriage not being able to trust that your spouse will help take care of you. My husbandās money is mine. Weāre a team.

Here I come with the unpopular but very reasonable opinion.
Short answer: yes, expect your husband to āhelpā, AKA pay for everything.
Long answer:
1) In marriage, there is no āmy money, your money, my debt, your debtā. Just like thereās no āmy hardship, your hardshipā. Marriage is only āus and oursā.
His money is yours, your money is his. Just like your debt, your hardship, your success is his.
I know it sounds like communism, lol, but that is the design for marriage like God intended it to be.
2) On a more traditional note, as the man he is expected to pay for your every need, as long as itās reasonable. You are not expected to do the same for him. As the woman I believe you can be his dependent, but not vice versa.
You might think these beliefs are archaic. I used to think that, too, but over the years both my husband and I realised that this is the only sustainable, functional design for marriage.
It also helped us to go from totally atheistic to reading the Bible.

My baby is 13 weeks old and I noticed small, white bits (discharge?) in or around her vagina.
I donāt know if it causes her any discomfort.
Should we go to the GP?
Could I have caused this by incorrectly cleaning her during nappy changes?
How do you clean your baby girls, especially after a poop?
I know to only wipe front to back.
I donāt use any harsh materials or chemicals. I use WaterWipes and switched to a ānaturalā, bamboo based disposable nappy. The discharge was there before the nappy switch.
We bathe her every other day.
