Behaviour

Is anyone struggling with behaviour at the moment?
Ever since my little one started school her attitude has just got worse! She's not listening more now than ever, she's so rude, shes unkind to her sister. It's making me want to rip every strand of my hair out!!!
Any suggestions on how to discipline these moments?

Mine was like that when he first started school last year. We really had to be firm and put a lot of rules and routines in place. I felt like school ruined my little angel! After the new year he seemed better. Being the youngest in the class he was having to deal with the other kids being a little bit more mature so think he felt like he was having to compete. I noticed during holiday he was back to his normal self but as soon as school started he was the horrible child again. Think there just too much for them at school to cope with. Now hes started year 1 we're back to a lot of attitude so we're spending a lot of time explaining why things cant be done. Seems to help.

No way, my little girl started last year and it hasn't calmed since! And she also is the 2nd youngest in her class but her best friends are the oldest of the class. Can I ask what rules you had in place that may help?

I've printed out rules at the table (not getting up, not chucking food, taking plate to kitchen, etc), bed time routine printout (we send him upstairs and tell him to go toilet, do his brush and get changed then call us to finish off his teeth, read book and cuddles). Giving him responsibilities has helped him a lot. He feels like he owns something and is like the older children in his class. We just spend so much time explaining why we're saying no and yes to things.

I started explaining reasons why to saying no but it just made things work, i found recently being short and sweet worked better for her. But bedtime is our issue at the moment "it's boring" any excuse to get out of bedtime is given, something hurts that hasn't all day, suddenly she's starving and severely thirsty 😩
