Positive induction stories please

Due to be induced on Sunday and I’m currently 41+3 today, nervous about being induced as I wanted natural with birthing pool. Please only positive experiences on being induced because everyone’s been fear mongering me about being induced🥲

It’s nice to have a birth plan, I was very thorough with mine but tbh everything went as planned only 50% of the time. So be open minded.

For example my goal was to last 5cm before getting the epidural. I was pretty miserable at 3cm and caved early, but they didn’t get the placement right and so it failed, I was still in pain until they re-did it. And by the time it worked I had progressed to 5cm .. So I hit my “goal” but i suffered in vain for it and I just laugh about how silly it is in hindsight.

But also I was told they’d have to break my water manually and I didn’t want that, and right before they came in to do it… GUSH! It broke on its own. So I was happy it worked out in other ways.

Tell your nurses if something makes you nervous and ask for time to consider it (as long as it’s not an emergency).

From start to finish my labor was about 24 hours.

Hi I was put on pitocin bc my water broke early and they didn’t want to risk infection. Induced at 10 am baby was out in 3 pushes by 5:30 pm😂
It felt like really intense period cramps back to back -I labored naturally- I had them cover me in ice cus I was burning up from how intense it was. What really helped was when my husband would shake my hips with each contraction *getting a massage gun on the highest speed would do the job tbh* and the most important thing was I kept telling myself that I can’t let fear take over bc I can’t let my muscles get tense bc it would only delay the delivery - so I did that and took really deep slow breathes to ground me and next thing you know baby was out. It honestly happened so fast and I braced myself , the mental preparation REALLY helps. Remember that your body was MADE for this. You got this!!! Best of luck❤️

I was induced with my first and it was a great experience! I did end up getting an epidural around 8 cm but that was always my plan. Induction to birth was about 32ish hours. I didn't budge from 1cm for over 24 hours but after that it moved pretty quickly. We only did a few doses of misoprostol, because I was already contracting every 1-2 minutes after the first dose. No tears or any additional interventions needed!

I went in to be induced but found out when I was there that I was already dilated enough just to have my waters broken so never needed the induction☺️ I ended up having natural birth.. next to the birthing pool?🤣 so pretty close to what you would like! I was 41 weeks x

My water broke at 37 weeks with my son and was not progressing so I was given pitocin to start my labor. It got very intense very quickly and I didn't have time for my epidural. It went very quickly, without any issue, the pain was so intense but I went into a sort of trance and it was over before I knew it. With my second I opted to be induced at 39 weeks because I had such a positive experience last time. I decided in advance I wanted the epidural if I was given pitocin again. I arrived at the hospital at 8 am dilated to a 3 and was on the monitor until 10 am when they broke my water. After a bit I was given a low dose of pitocin and the contractions came on fast and hard so i got the epidural around 11 am. It barely hurt at all and i had no side effects. I relaxed through the rest of labor without any issues at all. Started pushing around 2 and baby was born at 2:50. It was an incredibly positive experience for me! That was 2 days ago and so far so good! Feel free to message me with any questions!

I was induced at 39 and 4 due to high bp, and decided to not have an epidural prior to being induced. It was tough, but it’s 100% possible. Music helped me and I had a great support team that put me in all kinds of different positions when it came time to push. When you first get induced try to sleep/rest as they just feel like period cramps, try and eat, and drink lots of water throughout labor and pushing. Once the contractions get intense, move around as much as you can. Letting out a low hummmm sound with an open relaxed mouth helped me as well, I also sat on the toilet a few times as a different position, close your eyes or wear an eye mask and focus. Each moment is closer to meeting your baby, once you birth your baby/the placenta you’re all done and the sensations you felt during labor basically stop. I gave birth in April and can’t recall what an intense contraction feels like. Birth and labor are the shortest part of a pregnancy, you’ve got this!

was induced both of my pregnancies, one 37 weeks… one 34 weeks…. one baby 9lbs 13oz… the other 9lbs 1oz…. got the epidural (no pain there either for me! absolutely none)…. both babies came out in 5 pushes or less…

try to soak in as much as u can… even some of the pain… you’ll never get to relive this moment ❤️❤️ you got this… and act like you know you do! 🫶🏾

Thankyou all for sharing your stories! I’ve accepted that I can’t have it how I want it fully and I’ve been prepping with practicing hypnobirth and breathing etc. I’ll take it as it comes if I need to be induced when they monitor me I’ll get induced as I just want what’s best for my baby. They’re going to monitor the flow from the placenta to baby and then advise me what to do next. If I need the epidural because of the pain I’ll get one so I’m not fully opposed. Think it’s just accepting that it’ll happen how it will happen and almost surrendering to the birth at this point as I know I can do it and I’m strong minded and I know it will all be worth the journey when he’s here! The last bit I feel is just the longest and hardest (with people fear mongering ontop everyone turns into a doctor at the end giving unsolicited advice🥲)

I was induced back in February with my first, and was absolutely petrified as had also heard nothing but negatives! Overall it was a great experience for me, I had 2 days of induction, and then ended up going naturally myself after my waters broke on the toilet! After my waters broke the whole labour happened very quickly, so I was unable to have any pain relief (my worst nightmare I thought 🤣), but within about 45 minutes my daughter was born and I was so shocked that I had done it! The whole experience was so empowering and really positive for me, and I feel so proud for having done it (as will you!). Just remember that every induction story is different, and every birth is different so don’t listen to all of the negatives! for me I just listened really closely to what the midwives were telling me to do, tried to remain as calm as possible, and your body truly does take over and get you through it! You will do amazing! If you have any questions then feel free to message me ♥️

Remember just because you’re close to 42 weeks, doesn’t mean you have to be induced. Baby will come on their own eventually. No one is pregnant forever. You can opt for additional monitoring or just monitor baby’s movements yourself.
Obviously all your choice!

My induction was all set at 39weeks 5 days but before that, we decided to try a membrane sweep to see if my body would kick into labor on its own. The first try didn't do the trick, so we went for a second sweep.

When I showed up for my planned labor induction, I was already dilated! Because of that, I ended up having a natural birth. An epidural was in my birth plan, but things just happened so fast that I didn't even need it!

I was induced for my 1st and ended up with an emergency c-section, it was NOT at all a trauma or what, pain after it was hard but not that bad, scar not that bad, it was so great to have my baby on me that fast !
Don’t worry, it’s exciting you are gonna have sooon your baby in your arms!!!

I was induced with my first and had a natural water birth with second. They were both positive experiences in their own way! With the induction I had an epidural and it was amazing. I even got a nap. When baby arrived I was well rested and able to focus on him. It felt safer too - heart rate is monitored throughout and problems are identified earlier. Baby got stuck in both deliveries - but with the induction I had an episiotomy since the midwives had a great view of what was happening, while with the water birth I tore since the midwives couldn’t see what was going on. Between the two I’d much rather have the episiotomy - the tear was scary (baby wasn’t going to fit in either scenario). Finally, with the induction, when baby was born i was relaxed and purely overjoyed to meet him, whereas with natural birth I was distracted by also being overjoyed to have survived lol! Both were great and at the end I held my babies - 2 best moments of life and will be for you too ❤️❤️

I was induced due to reduced movements, went in Wednesday evening, pessary put in Thursday morning and went into labour Thursday night, daughter born Friday morning! I found it quite reassuring being in hospital for when I went into labour and it eased my anxiety. Im pleased with my induction as heard some horror stories before hand, but think overall it was positive! Xx

Got induced at 42 weeks - wonderful experience. I took the epidural when on the hormone drop - could still feel the sensation of pushing and all went well ❤️

Awh genuinely thankyou all so much for sharing your stories🥹 this has really helped to settle my nerves around being induced. It’s so reassuring to hear all of your stories and just cementing for me that however it happens it will be an incredible experience whether it goes how I planned it or differently. I know from speaking with so many friends no matter how the birth goes as soon as you have them in your arms everything is worth it! I’ve done the ten months I know I can do the last stint too and I’m really proud of what my body has already done, like we all should be it’s an incredible journey to go on. Thankyou all for sharing your experiences with me❤️

2VBAC ✨

Unmedicated VBAC with chunky 9lb7 and a half baby 😃

Don’t be pressured by growth scans, your body can birth big babies 💪🏽

My biggest piece of advice is tens machine, gas and air and birthing comb combined 😅 oh and so much trust in your body’s capability! X

Reduced movement

I’ve had reduced movement since yesterday, I went to the hospital on Thursday and they did the ctg and everything was normal, I went to my routine check up today and the midwife sent me back to the hospital as I still had reduced movement.
The put the ctg back on and everything showing fine and they have referred me for a scan but they aren’t sure when that will be. but silly me didn’t ask why I wasn’t feeling the movement. I was told at my 20 week scan that i have an anterior placement so I’m assuming it because of that and she’s just lied in a funny way . I’m 28 weeks today.
Can people share there experiences or thought please 🙏🏼

Please help me lol

I’m currently 36 weeks pregnant. Over the last 3–4 days I’ve had a lot more thick, jelly-like mucus/cervical discharge than usual, coming away in quite large amounts. I’ve also been having cramps and a lot of pressure, loose stools (around 4 times today), and I’ve suddenly lost my appetite as nothing seems appealing. I’m sleeping very badly because I’m constantly waking up uncomfortable and I’m extremely tired and groggy.

My first baby, was small and born at 37 weeks. This baby has also consistently measured small. At my growth scan today, he was around the 5th percentile and weighed roughly 5-something lbs. They said he may just be constitutionally small as I’m small and Arabella was too. They did an extra blood-flow/Doppler check for reassurance and it was completely normal. I’m having another growth scan because he isn’t growing quite as much as they’d like. I’m wondering whether everything together could mean I’m likely to go into labour early again?

First scan - sack visible but no baby

Hi all. I went for a scan when I was 6 weeks and 2 days. They initially couldn't see anything and then they could only see a sack but not a baby. They have booked me in for anothet scan in 2 weeks. Anyone else have a similar experience? I am spiralling a little.
