The jump from one to two

My baby is only one and I’ve been talking to my husband about trying for another but I’m nervous about going through the newborn stage with another child so young. I’d like to hear everyone’s stories good or bad about the jump from one child to two, or if you only have one, do you regret not trying for another?

I had me second when first was almost 3 and was recently sleeping through the night and potty trained. I think it would benefit you if they are at an age that they can talk, comprehend instructions, can walk without needing a buggy and potty trained, otherwise it will feel like having a baby x2 rather than a baby and a toddler

My little girl is turning one on the 24th September. We have just this week started trying for baby number two. I’m in my 30’s, time isn’t on my side.

Yes, there’s going to be hard time.
There’s also going to be lots of amazing times. Things always get easier.

I can’t wait to be a mum again.
I think if you’ve got a good supportive partner and even family and friends then things will be good!

My eldest was 8 when I had my second so it was a breeze as she helped.
That baby is now 3 and my 3rd is 7 months. Found their age gaps being closer a lot harder but worth it

We have 2 girls with just over 4 yeas age gap. It has been hard at times and we are yet to experience different challenges as the baby starts to crawl and walk, but the older one is mature enough to understand a lot about her sister's needs, purposely entertains her, hands her toys, sings her songs, etc. Even if she has a few moments of jelousy throughout the day, there are a lot of "you are the cutest baby, best sister ever, I love you" etc. It 100% helps if your child is more mature, I am glad we waited a few years to have a second.

That being said, we have zero support from family. If you have some suppory nearby you may find it a lot easier to juggle things, but I personally would have gone mad if I had a toddler and a baby and on my own all day, while my partner is working.
