Burping

How long are people burping their breastfed babies for and is this during a feed or just after? We think our little one might have quite a bit of trapped gas, he does a burp 80% of the time that we burp him but unsure if we should just continue until he does multiple?

My wee one is formula fed and we’ve to burp him half way through a feed or else he brings up his whole bottle and your normally rubbing his back for a good 5-10 mins sometime longer to get a burp up and he’s got trapped wind too as you can tell by his cry

I keep my baby upright for at least 15 minutes after a feed. I will actively try to get him to burp in that time, so I’ll do circles on his back and pat him also. If he hasn’t bought wind up after that period of time and doesn’t seem uncomfortable I will then lay him down ☺️

I actually got told that breastfed babies don’t always need burping as they don’t take in as much air as they would with a bottle. With mine I always burp him after a feed but if it’s not coming I don’t force it x

She tends to burp sometimes after breastfeeding it’s 50/50 sometimes she won’t but that’s also because breastfeed babies don’t take in as much air as bottle fed if the latch his good on the occasion that she does get a bottle I burp every 2 ounces if she doesn’t burp I give her two more and give it another go

Breastfed baby girl, is 9 weeks and honesty before infacol we couldn't get gas up and terrible colic, now with it I still burp her just after a few mins feed then mid way each breast, then after I've a fast let down so I need to. And now she burps well at that time then after she's gone back on for a while, If she wants 2nd booby try her on the first again before hand to be sure she's getting all the hind milk and burp again before offering the 2nd. My lo does cough , gag etc though so iburp straight after that too which weorks well for us .Keep her upright for 30mins after a feed and aslo feed with her more or less sitting up as she's a big girl but that's to help with her reflux.

Long periods of sitting

Help please! I know you can't lie flat on your back but are you allowed to sit propped up in bed leaning back for long periods?

I am so tired this pregnancy I can't sit straight up for very long before I flop back

Silent reflux or wind ? 😩

My little one is almost 3 weeks old, (still very young so I’m aware his digestive tract is developing) But the past few days I’ve had no sleep at all due to him being in discomfort, especially at night. He has a feed (formula fed) and struggles to burp but eventually does. I keep him upright for at least 30mins. When I put him down, he grunts and squirms and eventually cries. I’m wondering if this is a silent reflux issue (for which he’ll likely need gaviscon) or trapped wind ( he’d need Dentinox / Infacol)
Some of his main symptoms:
- lots of farting, he squirms and cries and will eventually fart
- he gulps and gasps during a feed ( I do burp him in between) he finishes his bottle happily
- he often makes a sour face after a feed and swallows in discomfort
Any advice on what this could be?

I need some toddler appropriate consequences for not listening/following instructions

To add to this is it a good idea to reward toddlers for doing what is expected of them ie brushing teeth, eating all their food etc? And at what point do you stop this as I don’t want my child to expect rewards as she gets older for doing things she’s supposed to.

Have you ever embarrassed yourself in front of others that you can’t forget ?

I tripped in a silent scene during a showing of a movie at a theater coming back from getting more popcorn and I dropped all the popcorn everywhere. I heard people laughing and I don’t blame them. People asked me if I was okay after too.
