I have a 20 month old and he does not listen to me at all. How do I fix this? I know he understands what I say.

I think it may be an age thing my 19 month old thinks its funny to put her fingers in her ears and laugh 🤯 all the time. Im hoping it is just a phase and it doesn't last until she turns 18 lol

Same boat, it’s normal for the age

Same same . Consistency is key .It really helps to always explain the "why" as well and not just to say "no". That is where the reasoning begins

I’ve tried and it doesn’t work every one says he has no respect for me it’s been this way for months

Completely normal for the age. I’ve noticed that some days my son wants to listen and some days he doesn’t. I think it’s just because their age lacks impulse control so it’s not necessarily an act of defiance, just comes with the age I guess. Just make sure that you’re following through with discipline. For example if my son isn’t listening to me and staying close to me in public then I say ā€œYou need to listen or mama has to carry youā€ and if he doesn’t listen to I carry him. If he throws a fit about me carrying him I say ā€œwe’re going to leave if you behave that wayā€ and then we leave if we have to. You’re doing the best you can, toddlerhood is HARD girl. šŸ˜…

My 19 month old doesn’t listen unless we give him a task.

We have him throw stuff away for us or put stuff up in his room or have him help clean up his toys. I think it’s just the age where you have to direct the excess energy into something productive.

He doesn't have to listen. Lol. Mine doesn't listen all the time.

Perfect prep machines

I have just read they are not recommended but we have the Tommee tippee one, has anyone used these and found them okay? If not how are people making formula?

My brother used a babybezza machine that dispensed hot water at the correct temperature and found this really helpful.

Would this be recommended?

Why do I feel like a bad mom?

My daughter is 1 and I know kids her age don't really understand the word "don't" or "stop" but we have a storm so we are in and out of power she kept saying dog because we were watching the live action Clifford movie so I was trying to connect back to WiFi while she was jumping on my bed. I told her to stop and sit down and next thing I know she fell off my bed! I heard her head hit the carpet and then all I heard next was her screaming like I've never heard before. I instantly picked her up to try and soothe her. She's sleeping right now because she had a long day and was already tired before the incident occurred. I feel so horrible and I can't stop crying. My mom called and I explained what happened to her and my stepdad even came in to check on her but no one else is answering me and I feel so alone right now. I don't know what to do. What signs should I look for when she wakes up? Does this make me a bad mom? Idk I just can't stop crying and I'm very shaken up. Please help 😭

Burping

How long are people burping their breastfed babies for and is this during a feed or just after? We think our little one might have quite a bit of trapped gas, he does a burp 80% of the time that we burp him but unsure if we should just continue until he does multiple?

Postpartum nappies

Can anyone recommend any to buy? I used disposable pants and pads in my last pregnancy and I just found them to be rubbish and uncomfortable as the pads kept moving and leaking. I’m fancying trying the nappy style ones if anyone has any recommendations? I’m a size 20 so I struggle to find any on amazon that might actually fit mešŸ˜‚

Car seat hell - help

My lG hates the car seat, and I mean hates. She screams and screams every car journey to the point we have to pull over. Even if I’m sat in the back, fed well before, made sure she’s comfortable, nothing is helping and I am starting to become traumatised from going in the car as I’m worried she will stop breathing from screaming. My first was bad but this is on another level.

Any advice please

Heartbreak how to move on

My daughters dad lives abroad so I had my daughter in March 2025 all alone. He cut us off a week before I gave birth. I hadn’t heard from him since until recently he’s told a family member he’s not her dad and he wants a dna test. It was a huge blow to my system because we both wanted the baby when I found out I was pregnant. He’s the first man I ever loved and the first man to get me pregnant. I’m so heartbroken we were together until he just cut us off and has been ignoring us ever since. I’m so heartbroken I get this tight pain in my chest I feel like I can’t breathe and the tears don’t stop flowing. I’ve cried everyday since giving birth.
