Bed time tantrum anyone?

My lo struggles with going to bed. Every night at 7 we either take a bath or do a wipe down, get jammies, brush teeth, say night to dad and ready a book then go to bed. Its pretty much the EVERY day and he does great with every piece other than going into bed. I used to cuddle him to sleep but we're whining off cosleeping cause none of us are sleeping well. He sleeps great through the night now but getting in bed is rough. I try to comfort him, pat his back, sing to him, but he just escalates worse. The best thing is to say goodnight and just leave him alone woth some piano music.

Does anyone have advice to help so that he can transition INTO bed better?

We’re doing Ferber method and he doesn’t like being put into his crib either. It’s rough but the sleep is totally worth it

They say baby yoga is the best way to help baby boys sleep ! 😴

My guy knows the drill and cries when it’s time to go to his crib. We have found that he settles pretty well on his own and the longer we stick around or the more we go in to check on him, the longer and harder he cries. So we make sure that the space is set up for him, tell him we love him and sleep tight, and skedaddle on out so he can get himself to sleep that much faster.

If might be too long. I love Supernanny’s goodnight technique. We do a full bedtime routine with 5 minutes of cuddling. I literally use a timer that vibrates at the end. Then hugs and kisses and goodnight. If he gets up, it’s bedtime darling and I lead him back. The second time, “bedtime”. No eye contact. No conversation. I lead him back. The third time, I silently lead him back without eye contact. Lovingly, but with appropriate bedtime distance.
The first night takes a while. Eventually you won’t really need to do it at all.

And when my son was 3, any time there was serious misbehavior at bedtime, he lost a story. He’d be devastated but a time out wasn’t appropriate for bedtime and he needed some consequence for things like hitting or screaming or throwing things. He stopped having tantrums around 4.

How old? Around 18 months we started incorporating a physical aspect to bedtime for our son. It started as i helped him "hop like a bunny" into his crib. Then we started using a big blanket to swing him before bed. Now he is in a big bed and we use the blanket to do up and downs and swing him into bed. He has always loved it and I feel that last good laugh really tires him out.

My son loves it and even on nights where he seems to be stalling we ask him if he is ready to do his up and downs or swing into bed and its an immediate yes. We have a special red blanket that we have always used. He loves it and honestly we love it bc he laughs so hard.

My baby keeps bursting out crying. What could be the reason?

My baby girl is 13 days old today and i am worried about the cries she has been showing me since Sunday. She would burst out crying for a short period and scrunch her self up showing what looks like pain in her stomach. Shes also crying when she passes wind and at the end of her feeds. I am doing a combination of formula and breastmilk, i am using infacol as it could be colic, massaging her daily and she cries when i do that, i just dont know what to do. I took her A&E yesterday and they said she is fine but im not convinced as she’s really upset and she’s not normally like this. Any advice please.

Reassurance?

My LO is 13 months old. He understands EVERYTHING. I say get the ball bring it to me he does. I ask him to show me the planes he points. He waves he claps. Everytime I speak to him he responds with ‘ooohh’
He babbles dadada wawawawa bababa and constantly makes noises. Like oooohh ahhhh uhhhh but no proper real word yet. Should I be worried?

Bulky travel systems? Buy or skip?

We went to explore pushchairs at mamas and papas and they really seem to encourage you to buy the ocarro package which is 12kg + and bulky once folded. Are these realistic to use post 6 months or is it better to go with something like Joolz/Nuna which are most compact but less sturdy I guess.

Advice on Sundown Scaries

Hello

Just looking for some advice on sundown scaries.

Our little girl is 11 days old today and I’m struggling with anxiety in the evenings.

She starts stirring and getting a bit grizzly in the evenings, on and off crying, wont be put down, just restless and cluster feeding. I find it quite overwhelming.

I feel pretty good in the day, but from 4pm I just feel riddled with anxiety.

I try to go to bed around 9pm if she’s settled & get a couple hours in before my partner brings her up around 11pm. Then my night shift starts.

I try to let my partner sleep through as we’re trying to establish a bit of a routine before he goes back to work next week.

Any advice on sundown scaries? How long did it last for you?

TIA

Clinginess after starting Nursery

My little boy started nursery last week for 2 days.
Ever since he has been so clingy, he was never like this before.

He rejects his Dad and only wants to be held by me. He just arches his back and screams if it’s anyone else.

I have to be within touching distance at all times or it’s the end of the world.

He used to be so independent & didn’t mind me not being there?

Is he just adjusting? Is he scared? I just feel so bad but also so touched out!!

Has anyone had this happen to them?

What age did you leave your breastfed baby away from you? My baby won’t take a bottle. I’m scared to go to the shop without him just incase.
