Feeding baby

How does your husband give baby his bottle? Does he do so by extending his arm into babies crib or does he pick up baby?
My husband won't pick up the baby and feeds him while he's in his bassinet and seems to think its totally normal but it really bothers me! like just pick him up!!!!

we encourage our daughter to hold her own bottle as she’s shown an interest and that’s she’s ready, however we used to just hold it while she was laying down as she didn’t like being held while feeding, each baby is completely different so it’s up to you. i personally don’t see an issue with this but if it’s bothering you it’s worth having a chat with your husband and coming to an agreement while still seeing each others perspective 💗

Talk to you husband maybe he doesn't pick the baby up because is not confident with the baby's neck. My hubby avoided picking our son up until recently when baby started holding his neck.

Tell him he can kill him. Literally before he could even save him because he is suffocating him and the position is dangerous

baby could easily choke on milk or suffocate on the bottle doing this because they can't move at all to fix their position or let you know they're in distress. like monét said the way it restricts their body and communication means something awful could happen before you even know something is wrong. it's definitely worth discussing why your husband doesn't want to pick up the baby to see if it's fixable! the idea of seeing if it's confidence holding him is a really good one. but feeding in the bassinet unfortunately needs to stop immediately because it is very very dangerous. not just slight increase of SIDS dangerous, but very immediately dangerous, and you two would feel terrible forever - it isn't worth the risk

Lol I didn't know but during night feeds my husband fed our baby while she was still in the crib lol honestly he was on to something cause then she just ate and knocked out immediately 🤣 she still wants her bottle that way during any feeds lol in the crib, dark, no noise

Rant

So I've followed the trial on Lindsay Clancy and now my algorithm is full of things on it. Since the mistrial I've seen so many creators posting complete lies about PPD and PPP. Not every mother who has/had it will annihilate Thier families or themselves. They are 2 VERY different things and seem to be being used interchangeably.
Mental health is a real issue and with all this misinformation and judgement surrounding it now it seems even less likely than before that people will try reach out for help. I can completely understand the desire to have her locked up and the key thrown away, but not guilty due to mental state isn't a new defence, in her state the prosecution has to prove she was criminally responsible. Also 11 people didn't think the prosecution proved that she was criminally culpable due to her mental health, that is the law. I am certain if ANY of her/the kids family thought the kids life were at risk they wouldn't have taken the risk so people blaming them is also just annoying me... Am I the only person with a nuanced view on this case!?

Crawling

My little boy is only 4.5 months old but so far he’s met every milestone early. The last few days he keeps rolling on his tummy and then lifting his bum up and moving his legs like he’s trying to crawl. Obviously he can’t and he gets so upset screaming and crying, but as soon as I roll him on his back he’s straight back on his tummy crying again 😩 is this just something I have to wait out until he learns how to do it?

Formula and slow feeding babies

My baby is 16 weeks old and currently drinks around 150–180ml during each wake window. She is a very slow drinker, so she’ll usually drink about half of her feed when she wakes up, then have small amounts throughout the rest of her wake window (just over 2 hours).

The problem is that formula is only safe to use for an hour once feeding has started, so we end up wasting quite a lot of formula and going through lots of bottles.

How can I encourage her to drink more of her feed at the beginning of her wake window? Or is there a better way to prepare the formula to avoid so much waste?

Would it be better to offer smaller, more frequent bottles? My worry is that sometimes she suddenly wants more, and if I’ve only prepared a small bottle, it runs out. If I make another bottle straight away, she often won’t take it for a while, even though she seems hungry.

I’d really appreciate any advice or tips!
