Fasting sugars

Hiya - I’m struggling to get my fasting sugars under control. During the day I’m absolutely fine with the subtle diet changes I’ve made. But no matter whether I snack or don’t snack in the evening, or what that snack is if I do, or if I do an evening workout or not - I just can’t get my fasting sugars to be within range, they are slightly over 😅 anyone got any advice?

It’s not you it’ll be the placental hormones. Sometimes even with every will in the world they will still be high
Please don’t be disheartened I’ve literally tried everything my numbers were great until about 32 weeks and then fasting numbers crept up slightly. This is because the placenta causes more insulin resistance as your pregnancy progresses but lots of other factors can cause it such has dehydration and sleep
I’ve just started on low dose insulin overnight because I couldn’t get my fasting below 5.3-5.5.
You’ve got this you’re doing amazing 🫶 x

I had the same issue literally couldn’t get them down so I’ve been started on metformin tablets and they seem to be coming down slowly now x

As people have said there’s likely nothing you can do about it and it’s not your fault. Blame little bubba and its placenta! You will likely need medication to manage fasting sugars. Not the end of the world I promise.

I’m on Metformin and I take one before bed with a protein shake and that seems to work (for now!) I’m 31 weeks so will see what happens over the next few weeks 🤞🏼also make sure you only fast for 8 hours - if I go longer, the morning spike is higher! So so hard to control.
