Hey mommas! š My son just turned 3 in July, and Iām really debating enrolling him in preschool. Heās never been in daycare or away from me for an extended period, so Iām definitely a nervous momma. š
Iād love to hear other momsā experiences with starting preschool around age 3! What was the transition like for your little one? Did they have a hard time with drop-off? How long did it take them to adjust? And what should I expect as a first-time preschool mom?
Iām excited about the socialization and everything heāll get to learn, but Iām also having ALL the mom anxiety about leaving my baby. š„¹š
Would love to hear the good, the bad, and anything you wish you knew before starting preschool! ā¤ļø

I just sent my July baby, he's 2 weeks in. He did fine at the first day dropoff. But he has cried and every dropoff and pickup since. He goes 3 days a week, so it isn't full time.
Expect your kid to get sick! My son has a fever and a stuffed up nose currently.
But honestly I'd rather deal with all this now than when he goes to kindy.

We just enrolled our baby girl (whoās also never been away from either of us except 10 total hours my dad when my husband and I went to a wedding and a concert) into a 3 hour a day/ 3 day a week preschool program through the city we live in. The first day she was distracted and the next two days she clung to me but then saw her toys out. Itās from 9-12 and she usually gets antsy with us around 11 so theyāve had to redirect her a couple of times but sheās enjoyed it. I wasnāt ready for a full day and donāt think she needs to be inside all day yet. Itās a wonderful balance and itās month to month with the option to check out other programs to see what works best for her learning style and schedule. Try it when you are ready. I donāt leave the area, I study near by. My mama heart/tether is NOT ready yet lol
Iāve come to realise that my partner is a narcissist. I donāt know why I was blind to this before but I feel so trapped.
Our son is 18 months old. We donāt live together as his flat is too small for all of us, and he refuses to move to mine. He comes up with any excuse possible not to come over and help, and even when he does, its like he gets bored of ābabysittingā after only 20 minutes, while I do household chores. I never get chance to do these when Iām home alone, so on the few times he does come round, I need to make use of the time. He then blames the fact that I go to some baby classes for 1 hour, twice a week, for the reason he never gets to see his son.
Currently, we all have a stomach flu. He didnāt stay at mine last night so I was up with the baby all night. He called this morning and asked how we were. I explained I had been up all night and asked if he was coming round to help me. He said āI just need a few more hours sleep, Iāve only had 6 and Iām shatteredā. No regard for me whatsoever?
I always thought I would end up with this guy and having more babies, but now this scares me (but I desperately want a second child). I canāt imagine him prioritising me during a c-section and allowing me to have skin to skin etc (he was not present at my first birth due to disagreements during pregnancy. Every time I said anything to him about me needing more support, he would give me every excuse under the sun and say he was ādefending himselfā). He constantly goes on about things being āfairā when heās here (as in, when our baby was a newborn, he wanted to come round and hold the baby for the whole time, as āthis was the only time he got to see the babyā, which was his own fault and meant I missed out on this experience. He also used to come round for a few hours in the afternoon after heād had a lie in and NEVER stayed for a night to help with the feedsššš). When it comes to Christmas and Birthdays etc he insists on being present and me making sure the plans line up with his sleep schedule etc (he doesnāt wake up until 11-12 most days and my baby is up at 6. He wants me to hold celebrations off until he is awake which is unreasonable, but then says things like āyou always make me miss outā).
I feel so trapped. My son has my surname as a double barrel and he constantly goes on about this being unfair as baby should have the dads surname, yet he shows no interest in actually helping. When we are on good terms, he makes every excuse not to see our son, but whenever we argue he says āmaybe we should just go to court and agree 50/50 custodyā. Then we are on good terms again and he doesnāt come and see him for days/weeks at a time, and is perfectly happy to go on holiday for 2-3 weeks at a time with friends. He doesnāt even have much of an idea how to care for our sons needs so this scares me so much. When he comes to see the baby he canāt seem to keep him entertained, and always ends up putting on a show for the baby to watch. He also constantly berates me about the fact that we donāt have sex much. But I donāt understand when he thinks this is possible when the only time he is here is during the day when the baby is awake. He says he is always lonely because I donāt make the effort for our relationship.

My husband wants to go Scotland for a friends wedding. I'm guessing I'd be less than a month post partum possible couple of weeks. We have a a 5 year old.
He wants to go. I don't want him to go but I said he is an adult he needs to make the decision himself but he knows where I stand.
Am I wrong to thinn he shouldn't be travelling for a wedding that soon. He would need to be away for 2 days.

My sonās dad is just embarrassing. I get that he works but every Friday night he gets plastered drunk and then doesnāt eat well I just woke up to pump for my MOTN pump and I found my sons dad curled up on the damn dog bed with the dog passed out drunk. Like bro thatās so embarrassing, I wouldāve been pissed if my son wouldāve found him like that and than earlier I asked him very nicely to not start the side by side cuz it was right outside the bedroom window where our son was sleeping and what did this damn idiot do he started it which woke our son up and then he goes why would I listen to you like are you freaking kidding me. Freaking 11pm and you started a side by side cuz youāre drunk and wanna go on a ride in the woods and then he came back inside and I told him that cross gotta stop and he said Iām not allowed to get mad at him and if I continue to get mad at him than heās gonna take away our sons new car seat. Like dude are you kidding me.

My baby is 12 months old now and I usually feed her by putting bite size pieces of food on to her tray one by one. I noticed that if I put more than one piece of food she will try put all pieces in her mouth at the same time.. š
Just wondering what other parents do - are you able to put a full plate of food in front of your baby and they will work away at it themselves?
