Flexible working request

Has anyone had a flexible working request accepted? I do hybrid working but have to go to the office 3 days a week. My office is over an hour away from where I live and where my children go to childcare. I put in a flexible working request to do more days working from home so I could drop off and pick up my children (partner works shifts so difficult for him to do it all the time) it got denied. They said that childcare was not an acceptable reason for me to work from home more. Has anyone’s been accepted and what did you say for it to be accepted? Thankyou from a stressed mum struggling to juggle being a working mum.

What was their reason for denying it?

A company can only deny a flexible working request for the following reasons:
•Extra costs that damage the business
•Inability to organise current work amongst staff
•Detrimental impact on quality or performance
•Insufficient work during the periods an employee proposes to work
•Planned structural changes to the business
