i got a kitten last week he’s 11 weeks old now, my little girl was perfectly fine first 5 days but the last 2 she’s been so aggressive no matter how many times i tell her no, she will grab him by his fur and drag him, try to stand on him and sit on him or shove her toys in his face really hard i’m scared he will suffocate. also my partner was adamant he doesn’t like animals but allowed me to get the kitten however now the kitten is here he refuses to even be in the same room as it, wont touch it and screams like a baby if it comes near him, all we’ve done is argue. idk what to do as i love the kitten so much and i’ve always wanted my own cat especially after my childhood cat died last year. i feel like i can’t have anything. like i understand he may not be too fond of it but why can’t he just be positive as he can see how excited i am about it. like i don’t want to get rid of the kitten but i feel like my life is going to be a living hell for the next 10-12 years if i don’t💔

It's sad but it sounds like keeping the kitten may not be in it's best interest..

Sounds like you have a partner problem. It's one thing him not liking animals but he's agreed to take this pet into his home and owes it a certain degree of care and respect. He's also setting a terrible example for your daughter. How old is she? You may need to be more proactive especially during the settling in period to make sure she isn't able to do these things to the cat. She could hurt it, but also it could hurt her. If you can't find a way for the kitten to exist in your home now might not be the time for a pet. It also sounds like you haven't worked through resentment about not having another child. You're allowed your feelings as much as he's allowed his, you've decided he's more important to you than hypothetical future children but you obviously are holding on to resentment. That's not going to make for a healthy relationship down the line so I'd look into therapy, couples if possible, if not just for you to help you understand and process your feelings.
