Midwife appointment

I put in the self referral at 4 1/2 weeks, now almost at 8 weeks and I’ve heard nothing. I wasn’t worried but a friend whose due later has heard from the midwives. Trying to contact my GP but having no luck. Anyone got GP recommendations? Also any help on how to chase up midwife appointments?

I’m sorry you’re going through that. Maybe you should try finding another midwife?

Well I don’t know where you are located, but in California (where I’m located) you have to seek for a midwife and hire her yourself. Have you went to see any type of doctor for prenatal care? Maybe that will be a good start, then seek a midwife.

In the uk most people get an appointment at 9 weeks so your looking at being around 10w for the appointment if still nothing at coming up to 10w id phone up asking about it just find your local children's center

Baby is here!

I welcomed a baby GIRL! Today at 5:12am, she was born as perfect as I could hope!🙌🏼

8lbs. 2oz. / 21in. long

Mom my was there and helped get to deliver her 3rd grandchild! It was such a special moment. 🩷🩷🩷

TMI (Sorry)

Sorry this is a bit TMI but ever since my first period after giving birth in January 2026, my perineum aches during my period. It aches so much but goes away after painkillers.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal?

Head preference

I’ve noticed that my baby tends to fall asleep facing his right, and prefers this when playing on the floor too. If I try and put down to sleep facing the left then he’ll just move his head to the right.

Also when facing the right he can put his cheek pressed all the way down, and for the moments I’ve got him to look left I’ve noticed he can’t press his cheek all the way down, so something isn’t right.

I’ve got pics of him facing the left as a newborn just fine so think it’s a recent thing within the last 2 months.

Assuming I should get referred to someone for this, who to see and where to start? Could my health visitor do this or would I need to go private? Thank you!

Boys names

Help! I need a boys name, so today I found out I’m expecting again in as little as 6 weeks time, 3rd baby. Have a girl and a boy already! Found out we’re having another boy….. I just don’t like any boys names…. Please help!

Gender scan 15 weeks!

I have my gender scan coming up & I’ll be there 15+2 at window to the womb. Who managed to get the accurate gender from this scan? Can’t quite believe I am at this point already 🥹
