The struggle is real - premmie twins and monotony

Anyone else out there have/had premature twins and really struggling with the actual age Vs corrected age development? My twins are almost 11 weeks old and I was getting excited for the first smile/engagement/interaction moments, but their corrected age is actually 3 weeks old, so we've got almost two extra months of the monotonous, mind-numbing and overwhelming newborn stage that is just eat-poop-cry-nap x2. I'm struggling with how constant it is and how all day every day I'm giving 200% of myself to the babies and getting nothing back from them. I know the first few months are always about just surviving, but I'm finding myself dreading hearing them stirring from a sleep and knowing that I've got to do it all over again and wishing away the newborn phase. Feeling mega guilty, overwhelmed, overstimulated, exhausted and teary all the time. Please tell me I'm not the only one?

Utilise that nap time for yourself! Get a hot shower, read a book, get a hot drink. Honestly newborn naps are a golden era 😅

I literally could have written this myself. My twins are 13 weeks, but 6 weeks corrected. I didn’t realise the difference between their chronological age and corrected age until the HV told me and man was it a punch in the gut. We’ve been struggling with cmpa/reflux since the boys were 3/4 weeks old, and I thought there would be a light at the end of the tunnel after 12 weeks, then I realised it’s based on corrected age and I actually have to wait much longer for things to mature on their own. They’ve only in the last 2 weeks started to smile and coo a little, and I can see some changes in their development, but it’s slow progress. I feel like I’ve been stuck in the trenches for longer than anyone else would for term babies, but no one around me understands 😭
