Reception - 2 weeks in
So far so good, BUT the lack of information about their day!?š« my girl can tell me what she had for lunch but thatās about it!! So happy sheās settled well though. Also is anyone else absolutely bombarded with emails, newsletters etc from the school š« itās a lot!
Side note - donāt use this app much anymore but itās crazy that I used to post asking about pregnancy symptoms, then newborn sleep and feeding etc now weāre at school š„²š„²

I saw a video from a school teacher on tiktok and it said instead of asking them questions straight off try making conversations with the questions x
Few of them were
Ask if there ok and do thumbs up or thumbs down x both do it, so for example hows your day been and they do thumbs up, say my days been good to and do š
Then for lunch, again. Ask them, if they answer great but then Tell them what you had x maybe first if they dont answer x
I only found the video Tuesday and tried it wed/thurs/Friday and it might be a fluke but it worked really well

Feels like they're so far away from us now they've started school. I just want to squeeze my LG when she gets home and not let her go.
My daughter gives a pretty good run down of the day but sheās one of the few who does from her class so normally Iāll send little anecdotes over to the other Mums haha. It is hard though! I wish there was a live stream of the class so I could see what she was like without us x
