Hi girls,

I have 3 year old son and 10 months old daughter. Since I have my daughter something has changed in me. I’m always arguing with my partner, always angry and overstimulated. He works 8h a day 5 days a week, he comes home need to rest etc. I take care of both kids most of the time, I wake up at night when my daughter wakes up, I cook , clean and I do literally everything. Don’t get me wrong I’m stay at home mom so this is part of the things I need to do and I’m not moaning about this, but there’s something that just makes me sooo angry and overstimulated. He can rest whenever he wants cause I will always take the kids, when he was ill he could spend the day in bed but when I got ill I still have to run 24/7 and do everything, I can’t go to the shop alone always have to take one kid with me I don’t remember when I had at least few hours off my duty and I feel like even when my partner is working he should help me more at home at least by supporting me mentally. I’ve been really angry and always snapping at him, yesterday he came back home and we were arguing and today same. He said he’s got enough that all I do is shouting and moaning. I feel like he doesn’t understand me anymore and we’re just two different people in parenthood. I really don’t know what to do. He always just says he’s doing everything for our family (we moved to my country and he’s always calling it a sacrifice from his side). I’m just so tired from all of it. On his days off his never up to do anything with me and kids such as going out for a walk etc. it makes me so tired cause I want to give my kids memories and not just sit at home with us all the time but to actually do some fun things and I feel like it’s always me pushing for it. I really feel like not myself lately, my body changed, I don’t want intimacy with my partner cause I’m just sooo tired and he doesn’t understand it. But I think my tiredness is more like mental tiredness instead of physical. Am I being stupid? Sometimes I really dont want to argue but I’m so annoyed that I start arguing🤷‍♀️I don’t know how to get myself back to be normal. I love my life with kids and I feel super good to be a mom but it’s just the thing with my partner that makes me tired.

Best advice I gave to myself “take what you need “ we can’t make anybody do or be anything but what you can do is put that same type of energy into yourself as well. Lock your room door when you need to. Dads in charge later guys, and guess what ; no one will expire while you are away. What you say to yourself becomes what holds true.

Your partner needs to step in. Even if its only once a week or an hour a day. My partner works 10 hour shifts sometimes 6-7 days a week (mandatory 50) and he cooks everynight and helps with the kids when I need a break. The best thing to do is have a conversation with your partner that you need some time to yourself.

Plan it between lunch and dinner where there are no naps and leave him with the kids. When you get back and hes frustrated and overwhelmed thats your time to shine and explain I was gone for length of time and you are right where I feel everyday. This is what I mean by I need a break sometimes.

Having 1 kid was hard but she was getting older and it was getting easier and we threw a baby into the mix. I'm almost 8 mo pp and WE are still struggling to keep up most days. But he also realized that no matter how tired he was I was exhausted.

So if he works 40 hours a week, assuming he sleeps 8 hours a night, that means he gets 72 hours of free time a week. And you get 0. Whether he works or not, this isn't fair, this isn't balanced, this isn't a respectful equal partnership. This is a man who is living his life EXACTLY as he did before having kids, in fact it's potentially easier cos he has his maid to do everything for him. Partners don't need to "help" with things at home. Partners need to CONTRIBUTE to raising their children and maintaining their homes. He's taking the absolute piss. This isn't what being s SAHM is. I bet he makes you beg if you need to buy nappies. Sit down, talk to him, tell him it's time to grow up and be a man, be a dad, and make the effort before it's too late and you're gone. You don't deserve this. He's lazy and pathetic.

Girl, you are burning out! You aren't getting any support. Being a stay-at-home parent doesn't absolve the other partner from doing THEIR SHARE. He's at work 8 hours a day, he's getting a BREAK. He gets to have adult conversations, take a piss on his own and not have to drink cold coffee because one kid needed you, then the other, then the chores, the meal prep, etc etc etc.
You need real time to disengage from the kids. And no, grocery shopping on your own doesn't count! Though it is a decent first step. Leave the kids with him, walk out the door and turn your phone off for an hour or 2. Don't do the hours of prep ahead of time to ensure he's prepared for every possible eventuality. Just decide to walk out the door. And do it! Go to a movie, take a long walk, sit down in a cafe. Catch up with old friends. Anything that works

C section

My partner got kicked out the room while I was being stitched up during my emergency c section and showed his mum our baby boy before I could even look at him without being drugged up. He’s called me childish for being hurt by this. He said he was crying and that’s why. But wouldn’t your first thought be if I’m okay not to FaceTime ur mum while I’m still in theatre. Was being the first one to hold him not enough? Thoughts?

Baby daddy issues

My partner and I values do not align at all. while he’s a good father and is a nice guy . he’s also downright lazy and cheap and I come home working a full-time job to a messy house and I’m just having to do everything. I’m exhausted and while I love my baby more than anything in the world and she’s literally the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I sometimes wonder if I had her with the right person. Anyone ever feel this way? Any advice? He also complains that I’m always angry or frustrated well now you know why.

London mums – how much do you pay on top of the 30 funded hours for nusery?

Just curious what other London parents are paying. I want to understand what the norm is - Not sure if I’m being charged too much.

If your child gets the 30 funded hours and attends nursery around 3 full days a week, roughly how much do you still pay per month for extras/consumables such as meals and activities?

Would love to compare as it seems to vary so much between nurseries! Feel free to comment what your fee covers too.
