Swimming

How on earth is anyone going swimming on their own with baba? How do you get changed? I just don’t understand 🤣🤣

Some changing rooms have baby changing. I change him first, then hover over baby to make sure he doesn't roll off while I haphazardly attempt to dry off/get dressed/undressed 😂

My exact question and what had been holding me back for taking my baby to swimming classes! 😅 My gym has family changing room but my baby now is too wiggly to be on the changing table but also cannot stand. I am not letting her crawl all over the disgusting floor. And how do we even shower after the pool? How do I hold a towel on my baby, hold my baby and still open the locker for my bag? I have so many questions. 😂

So before you go, get your swimsuit on under your clothes for ease. Take off clothes when you get there. Then change baby, do this as close to the time you’re swimming as possible because the swim nappies won’t hold in pee!

When you’re done, dry baby and stick a nappy on, then dry and dress yourself, then dress baby.

We’re at the point where babies don’t stay still for long but… yeah that’s my process. It’s elongated by the amount of times I have to pick up my baby off the wet floor and put him back on a towel/mat. But it’s doable!

I take my baby swimming on my own every week. The pool I use doesn’t have a changing table so it’s just a case of using the bench then standing close as I can to it whilst I get myself changed.

I always change baby first then myself

My pool has little floating seats on the wall where theyre completely strapped in whilst you do your thing (like a floating high chair) and then for changing i was using the table and using the clippy strap but now hes more mobile I always just change him in the pram, put a towel in there, have distraction toys and our pram has a safely bar which I always have in place

I go with both kids. Get all of you in costumes before you go! Afterwards is always a challenge but changing room with highchair and snacks to hand! Good luck x

At my baby’s swimming lesson it’s one big changing room we get the babies out of their wet costume and nappy put them on a changing mat (from home) on the floor wrapped in a towel quickly get yourself dressed then dress baby, I find it helpful to have a bottle ready for straight after as well x
