LeakingšŸ’¦

I’m 38+4 and I thought my waters broke yesterday as I had a sudden gush of clear fluid. The midwives called me in and said it must’ve been watery discharge. They checked me over and said no signs of labour as cervix is still closed and baby not engaged. I lost my mucus plug last night and now I just won’t stop leaking and going through a few pads but the midwives just say it’s discharge! Any ideas?😢

I had the same situation
Midwives suggested that it was urine, that i lost control of my bladder

I started getting mild cramping but they just wouldn’t take me seriously
Luckily i was in the hospital under observation, cause few hours later my cramping got worse

It was contractions and i was 2 cms dilated

I think that if you are soaking pads you might want to call triage, it sounds like is a continuos leak. They will for sure call you in and check again

This happened to me at 36 weeks and it was my waters, I would definitely ring triage and go in to get checked there! I had to go on antibiotics as my waters had be gone for over 24hrs to stop any infections! I gave birth 14hrs later so defo worse persisting! Best of luck šŸ«¶šŸ»

Please get another opinion this exact thing happened to me and I was left a week after I went in and ended up having to be induced as it turned out it was my waters.. Baby then had to have 5 days of antibiotics and ended up with a serious sepsis infection! Which all could have been prevented if the first midwives listened to me!

They should be doing an internal swab to be sure, not just assuming. They told me i wasn't in labour, but then did a swab and realised that my waters had gone, and then I had to be induced to go into labour as if you're more than 48hrs with waters gone there's greater risk of infection and complications toother and baby.
