Toddler with fever

Hi mamas! My 20 months old baby has had a fever since Thursday and it’s been continuous until now. We took him to his pediatrician yesterday and they said they don’t think it’s an infection (they also tested him for UTI) and it’s probably just a virus. He doesn’t have any other symptoms except for the fever. Has this happened to your little ones? I’m thinking if there’s anything or tests that I should push for. He was home all this week and last week from daycare and he hasn’t even been outside of the house, so we are just shocked that he’s sick with something.

Yes, with our three year old over the summer he had an on and off fever for over a week. After his results came back negative for a UTI. A few more days later, we went back to the doctor and I asked his pediatrician to check his ears and he indeed had an ear infection that didn’t show when we first went to figure out what was causing his fever.

Also, onions and potatoes in his socks and chicken broth made with onions, lemon juice helped. We also would give him a syringe with natural squeezed orange juice (not a huge fan of oranges).

I hope your little one feels better soon! Sending hugs 🫂

How high is his fever?

My little one recently had a fever for 4 days getting over 103. It was the only symptom. He did drink and eat ok through it. It was a virus and he got better on his own.
My pediatrician advised to pay attention to the other symptoms with a fever- are they eating and drinking ok? Have loose stools? Tugging ear, etc.
