I just found out im pregnant with baby #2. I had my first at the Liverpool Women's and found everything smooth. But since then I've moved to Prescot and Whiston hospital is much closer. Does anyone have any feedback on Whiston Hospital?

Had both my babies there and can't fault it

I had my baby at Whiston & it was phenomenal, couldn’t fault the midwives & care teams, I’ve heard nothing but good things about Whiston maternity from the women I spoke to but i made my decision based on when I watched my sister give birth at the women’s hospital & the care & attitude from the team there just was not to the standard it should be for such an vulnerable time, but I have also heard other women say they loved it there

I was at Liverpool Women’s until 16 weeks and then transferred over to Whiston. I felt the Women’s felt a bit more of a conveyancer belt.
Whiston triage was really good too whenever I needed to see them, I’ve heard a few things about never being able to get in touch with the women’s? Not sure if that’s still true.
I can’t compare the two directly and obviously you had a good experience at Women’s so I’d say that’s a big positive in favour of women’s. But if your midwives at your GP are under Knowsley then they won’t have a lot of your info from Women’s. That’s the main reason I transferred over I found it so annoying that once I got to my mid wife appts they didn’t have all my data from Women’s. All the midwives round Knowsley seem to know each other too which I find nicer.
They don’t have an app for Whiston either, women’s uses badger notes and whiston only has an online portal for your growth thing now.
So basically if your gp is still in Liverpool maybe still with what you

Had fantastic midwives and care at Whiston. Discharge was a nightmare but I don’t think that’s dissimilar to most hospitals!

Amazing! Thanks everyone for putting my mind at ease! Whiston would definitely be more convenient as its close by. My GP is a local one in Prescot so hopefully any notes transfers shouldn't be an issue!

Had my baby in Whiston 5 days ago, my first was in the women’s and I can say Whiston is fab! Had the loveliest midwife, staff was really nice while I had to stay in for 3 nights to have my waters broken and the care after giving birth was 10X better than I experienced in the women’s. Can’t fault it other than it being busy at this time of year
