Big Baby and GD- UK BASED
Hey all! i’ve recently been diagnosed with GD and baby is measuring on 97th centile. I’m a worrier, so my next thought is if he continues to grow big (i have a growth scan for 32w then another for 36w depending on results), can I request induction for 37/38w as i’d like to try have a successful vaginal delivery. At the moment he is projected to grow to 10lbs full term and i’m only 5’2 and of small build myself. I am aware there are possible complications with birthing early, but considering the circumstances is this something they’d take into consideration at all please ☺️

If your baby stays on the high centiles they will offer you an induction, don’t worry! The date will depend on their size but also if you need medicine to control your sugars
It depends on the trust, but some offer early induction as a matter of course. I had a phone call with a consultant around 34 weeks I think, GD was diet controlled with no other risk factors and baby was measuring around 75th centile and she offered me induction at 38 weeks.

Am I in labour?!!?
Can real labour contractions just start close together instead of being far apart and at inconsistent times to start then getting close???
I’m 37 +2 and I’ve had braxton hicks for weeks but just started having contractions about 20 minutes ago I’ve had 5 so far and haven’t timed them as of but they are a lot more intense and low down and I need to breathe through them. I’ve had no waters break idk if I’m just overthinking

Reduced movement
Hey. I was just thinking. What is considered as reduced movement? Assuming you normally feel your baby move 5 times a day. If they moved just 2 times on one day, 4 times the next, once the following day but next to 5 the day after. Is that reduced movement or irregular movement? At what point exactly do you call triage?

My little baby boy was meant to be due on the 30th October but he decided yesterday at 11:14am that he wanted to make an appearance.

Bright red spot in whites if eye
My newborn baby girl was born 3 days ago with some bright red spots in the whites of her eyes. According to the pediatrician there was trauma while she was getting pushed out with the umbilical cord wrapped around her eyes. These are broken capillaries which fade away in 2-3 weeks but I wanted to know if anyone went through this.
Does it affect vision at all? Does the spot fade away with time? Anything I should be doing at this point?
