My daughter has a hand full or more words but she refuses to say words that we ask her to say and she doesn’t combine 2 words together to make a short sentence like I’ve heard other children her age do… should I be worried or could it just be a speech delay or just a toddler being stubborn? She knows what we’re talking about because she’ll grab things for us and do the things we ask her to but she just refuses to actually say the words. Someone give me peace of mind!!

Einstein did speak until he was 10 years old. Maybe call your healthvisitor and ask to be referred to speech and language team and do some exercises together. Do you read every day? So don't be too worried, but maybe speech and language maybe helpful.

My twins were the same way. Our pediatrician said that as long as their comprehension was good or above average, then they were fine and they were!
Also, and this is so crazy, but for one day I put Miss Rachel on and after that they wouldn’t stop yapping lol I mean I read to them everyday, told them about our day, I’d tell them what they were pointing at, and not a peep. Ms Rachel opened the gates idk 🤷♀️

My son was the same at this age (though he previously had more words and regressed massively) and an assessment placed him as having the speech level of a 15 month old. They weren’t concerned because his understanding was great (scored the same as they’d expect of a 4yo!) but referred to speech therapy anyway
Speech therapist told us asking him to say words isn’t helpful, try offering two options, ie “is this the cow or the horse?” Or “shall we go to the park or the shop?” which helped my son a lot. He completely caught up with speech by around 2y9m and now at 3.5y has a much bigger vocabulary than any other child we know his age!
I’ve been really struggling with maternity leave and feeling completely detached and angry (sadly with my son). Just wanted to hear from people that got through similar, I’m starting therapy next week and my baby is 7 weeks old.

I want to breastfeed as much as possible but we also want to pump so my husband can do some feeds too. Does anybody have any recommendations for ones that worked for them? There’s far too many options!!

Has anyone turned their breast milk into jewellery? I’ve seen ads for stores in Canada and the US but would love to know if anyone’s used a uk jeweller and
get some recommendations.

Mums, I’m honestly at the end of my wits with the crying 😭
My little one is 8 weeks old and lately he seems to cry so much. I’m finding it really overwhelming and stressful.
I feel awful saying this, but I’m finding it really hard to enjoy motherhood at the moment because so much of the day feels like trying to settle a crying baby.
For anyone who went through a really fussy/crying phase around this age — when did it start getting better for you? I just need some hope that this phase does pass. 🤍

Hey ladies.
I am only breastfeeding my baby and I would like to go out for a longer walk/shops, but I don't feel confident breastfeeding outside. So I am seeking some advice on how I can feed my LO with breast milk only in public. Thank you.

I know it’s a very personal choice and it’s recommended to until they’re at least 6 months old but our baby can definitely sense we’re in the room and overnight especially during their light sleep, I’m convinced I’m waking them up. Have you noticed any improvement to their sleep if you have decided to sleep independently?
