I honestly cannot fathom the idea of deliberately choosing not to vaccinate your child. I am seeing it more and more on this app, vulnerable mothers being shamed and misinformed by people who got their ideology from a social media video, and it is so frustrating and baffling to me.
I understand that people can have genuine concerns about vaccines, and be on here asking for advice, i’m not talking about those people. I’m talking about parents who CAN vaccinate their children but actively choose not to and promote this and try and push this onto others because of excuses like “look at what’s in them”, “vaccines cause autism”, or whatever the latest anti-vaccine talking point happens to be. Not only has every single claim like this been disproven, but even if they were true, the hypothetical cons in these false scenarios do not outweigh the pros in the slightest!
I genuinely cannot understand how a parent can look at a vaccine that exists to protect their child from potentially serious or fatal diseases and decide that the risk of vaccination is somehow worse than the risk of the disease itself.
Personally, I don’t think childhood vaccinations should be treated as an optional ‘lifestyle choice’! Or the argument that ‘we all parent differently’, I do not think this should be treated the same way and be included in that umbrella. When you knowingly leave your child unprotected against preventable, potentially life-threatening illnesses, you’re medically neglecting them and actively endangering them.
At some point, misinformation and personal preference have to be separated from what actually protects children from harm and fatality.

I don’t think it’s necessarily pushing misinformation on to vulnerable individuals. But a new generation of mothers/ parents making informed decisions and spread the information that they learned. We live in a time where people are becoming a little more aware of what is not being outright told to us but instead put in a textbook for those who are supposed to care for us and not being mentioned during care. I am 25 years old never been vaccinated don’t plan on vaccinating my child under the circumstances we currently live in. I’ve never even caught a flu. Your immune system is supposed to protect you from foreign entities. Injecting yourself with said entities to fast track what your body is created to naturally do is unnecessary. There is more than one way to heal, protect and prevent. Not negating that there is a lot of misinformation but there is a lot of legitimate information and evidence that make people choose not to vaccinate.

Im sorry but not vaccinating your children is a privilege based on other vaccinating theirs.
If 70% of children got Polio and there was a shot that prevented your child from contracting it and ending up in an Iron Lung you would jump at that.
Anxi-vaxxers are able to exist because parents who vaccinate their children exist as the majority of the population. It’s simple herd immunity. 🤷🏼♀️
