Crazy hair tips

My little boy (white/black Caribbean) has almost two hair textures, he has quite loose soft curls at the front but then an almost Afro texture in the back which goes wild. I use the only curls products for kids (shampoo, conditioner, detangle spray and styler) but after he sleeps it just goes crazy. It’s super knotty at the back so he doesn’t tolerate any brushing/combing - I only just manage with a fight when it’s wet.

Any tips on handling the back section? Heavy products don’t seem to work well given how soft it is in the front.

His hair is like my daughters. What products do you use? I use little coco shampoo and the detangling water. I use both a detangling brush and a soft bristle brush. Do you tie it up or have you tried to plait it at all (trust me I know its not easy)

I use only curls products which are really good, it’s just the sleep wriggles which leave it crazy! I’ve not properly tried plaiting or putting it up, not sure he would let me, it is definitely long enough though!

This is caused by friction from the pillow. Use a silk pillowcase for him and that should get it sorted.

Do you put a durag on him at night? Would he let you? It might help with the notty hair

If only the boy stayed still in bed - we cosleep and he’s all over the place would need full silk sheets 🤣🤣🤣 will try a durag. Texture is different as it dries different but think friction is what sends it wild

Curly hair girl here and curly haired baby. Every day u will have to refresh his curls. Since he doesn’t like u combing it out I would give him something to occupy him so he gets used to it. W my little she stands on her stool and likes to play w the water from the sink as I detangle. And as for products, I’ve never complicated it. A good conditioner is all u need now. I put a little conditioner in a small spray bottle, mix it w water and I use that as a detangler. Let air dry. ( my little hates the sound of the blow dryer)

Try a bonnet at night time and make sure hair is fully dried before bed, this Weill help prolong the soft detangled hair longer. Youll still need to do it at least weekly but using a bonnet you can wet and finger detangle daily. Thats helped me with my boys hair who also have many textures like I do. My oldest is the same way with that back of the head hair , but his gets straight there and looks flat and unattended with no bonnet. His hair is so cute and perfectly organized when I fluff it out after removing his bonnet.

Thanks ladies for all the tips, what are you brushing it with? Atm I just use a wide toothed comb as trying to avoid annoying him but there is probably something more effective!

Refusing nap at age2 help!

My little one is 2y 2m old. She has just all of a sudden stopped napping. Nursery told me they spend half hour with her and she won't sleep and same at home. I'm really worried nursery will stop trying. But she just will not settle down at all all of a sudden. Help please. It's way too early for her to drop the nap!

14 w/o slept for 15 hrs?

She’s 14 weeks. Yesterday we decided to try putting her to bed at 8pm (she usually just comes with us at around 10/11). So we bathed, boobed and transferred to bed by 8. We kept the room dark and she slept there for an hour before waking up. I then took her back with me but she continued sleeping until 11. Woke up at 11, had her nappy changed. All happy as can be. Then slept until 3. Breastfed. Nappy changed at 5. Breastfed. Slept until 7, breastfed. Still asleep now at 11am?

Is this normal? She’s still having wet nappies, feeding, etc. should I wake her? She started trying to roll to her front yesterday, so idk if she’s just tired from the workout 😅

Trike 1 year old winter

It’s my daughter birthday next week and I was thinking about getting her a trike I really like the little Dutch one but then I’m thinking would I actually use it because it’s nearly winter so she’ll be in her pram a lot with foot muff and we don’t seem to go out a lot in pram whilst she’s awake.

Opinions if you’ve got one do you use it or waste of money?

CMPA? (Photo)

My baby is really congested overnight. She’s always congested - but particularly more snorty after a bottle of Kendamil. She’s primarily breast fed with one bottle of formula a day in the afternoon. Her poops are also explosive and look like this. Does this look like CMPA, so sorry for the photo! Two first poops from two different mornings. Will add the second to the comments.

Night sleeps with a 4 day old

My baby girl is 4 days old today and for the past 2 days shes had 2 long night sleeps like 6/7 hours i know you are supposed to wake them up but i feed her extra throughout the day and before bed give her extra boob and when she wakes up asap, her weight looks good, like i know the whole point of waking up for the night feeds is to put on that extra weight but she is doing really well, plus it also helps me get the extra sleep as ive been really sleep deprived what do you think guys anyone else feel like this or is there a serious health issue with her sleeping this long throughout the night, we have her 5 day weigh in tomorrow maybe the nurse will tell me she is a lot bit maybe she will tell me she is okay im not too sure this is all so new to me 😁🙃
