Planned C section

Having my second baby and this time around I have to have a C section due to complications in my last pregnancy.
Could you give me your best tips and advice. I have no idea how to prepare or what to bring or use post healing!
Super nervous about it.
Thank you 🩷

Post c section you best recovery tool is movement. The more gentle movement you do, the easier it will be to recover in my experience. Make sure you have some form of support set up for afterwards.

Don't worry too much about how you will feel on the surgery table. I had a full on panic attack and was crying my eyes out getting my spinal and they calmed me down. Ask for anti sickness drugs if you need them as you can feel quite nauseous. X

I had such a positive experience with my elective c section this year, here are some of my top tips from my experience

Take a mini Bluetooth speaker and a phone into theatre with you, I had my own playlist on and it made everything feel so lovely and relaxed.

Take chewing gum into hospital with you, chewing gum helps get your bowels moving again post op and prevents trapped wind.

Get up and moving around as soon as you can little and often, it really does help with recovery.

Keep on top of painkillers once you’ve been discharged, I stuck to the ibuprofen and paracetamol timings from hospital and it definitely helped manage pain during recovery.

Buy big pants! High waisted underwear that sits above your incision is definitely the best!

Also try and think of the positives of having a c section, as people talk a lot about the cons! Feel free to message me if you have any questions or want any more advice 😊x

Here we go again...

First ever pregnancy the baby was too big, this pregnancy the baby is too small

Last time I got induced and did labour til we reached 10 centimetres but the baby just didn't want to come out,

(at 42 weeks I might add)

so after pushing for so long and 2 doctors later

Emergency C-section it was... On the 25th of May 2025

This time I am hoping for a vbac but they want to induce me at 38weeks this weekend

(so 17 month difference)

because the baby seems to be growing smaller than usual, placenta blah blah blah

Hopefully I can push this baby out or am I being delusional? Lol any thoughts are welcome, I'm based in UK, London

Rib pain

I’m 28 weeks pregnant and for the past 2 weeks have been experience a lot of rib pain. Sometimes it’s on the front, sometimes on the back and sometimes all over. It can be so uncomfortable / sore at times that it catches my breath and feels like a constant ache.

I think it helps sometimes if I lie down on the opposite side, I’m not sure if it’s the baby’s position or stretching to make room. This is my first pregnancy, does anyone have experience with this type of pain? Any advice on easing would be great!
