Sleep is important for all of you! Try and have a day or evening scheduled for some time alone together when the baby sleeps. Or grandparents if it's possible. Maybe a babysitter if you feel ready for one? Until the baby is moved to their own bed, it will be difficult, but not impossible.
Decide what's important for the two of you at the present moment. Be kind to each other, have cuddles and kisses when you can. The rest will follow in time. It's a journey not a sprint. You're in for the long haul and the baby does get priority until he is able to sleep on his own.
Out baby was in his room from 6 months and he loved it. For other people it might take longer. For co sleepers, I am not sure how it works but I am confident the couples do make it work somehow.
