My b'day is in Sep ( I have been with my current " partner" for the last 3 years, let me just out it this way - not one b'day has been special - it's always a shit show - and I always get an explanation about why it's a shit show ( context : we found out that our fling got me pregnant - and we decided to give this " relationship " a go - and to put it simply - in my POV - it's an utter shit show - I have been thru hell and beyond - all alone - and been thru days of anxiety, loneliness , paina and suffering - physical, me tal and emotional - all alone , with a NICU baby , alongside me undergoing 4X surgeries...
Ok, getting to the point - it's my partner's bday tomorrow - and I want to do something to clarify how much he means to me i.e. to make him realize what he did on my recent b'day - telling me I can do whatever I want - and just not planning anything - and ending up just doing random shit - like impromptu breakfast at a cafe that I paid for , random grocery shopping; and I had to forcibly take our family to dinner ( in all honesty - he paid for it )
So - now it's his turn - what can I do to ensure he knows what he did and how that made me feel.. ( no cake, no gifts - nothing - he said he is happy to give money if I want to buy something)
( Context : last two birthdays - I just cried - I was struggling thru PPD- and in utter despair - all alone with my son)

The way this was typed gave me an aneurism ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ but in all honesty doing something petty will only further damage the relationship and if that’s what you want then go for it but for the sake of the child I wouldn’t
