Finger food

My 8 Month old has only been on purées so far but I can see he is starting to lose interest, he likes to pick up things and put to his mouth. Suggestions for finger food to start with please that were safe and enjoyable for little ones 🙏🏻

Would recommend looking at Solid Starts - it’s really useful as it shows you how to prepare finger foods for baby based on how many months they are. I loosely followed a book called ‘How to wean your baby’ by Charlotte Stirling-Reed when we first started weaning which I found really useful too. I gave my baby broccoli to begin with (both pureed and as finger foods) and worked our way through the veggies. The aim is for food to be quite long, thick strips or sticks to begin with it and they should be able to be squished quite easily. Good luck!

I started off with brown toast and small amount of butter cut into fingers. Sweet potatoe chips are great start 😋 👌

Very confused

My child's nursery has asked me to refill the funding form. Last one was mislaid.
Online it keeps telling me I am NOT illegible for any form of childcare funding, is this correct?
They're 3 and do 12 hours a week (under the free 15 hour funding)
The TYF881-******* code doesn't apply anymore as my child is 3? Do I need any sort of code?
Do I just fill out my form with details and no code is needed, genuinely I am SO confused

Potty training

Has anyone else NOT started potty training yet? I feel so much pressure seeing other kids the same age being potty trained but I know my little boy isn’t ready. He used to go and sit on the toilet and doesn’t even do that now. He sometimes tells us when he has pooed but not always. I am off on maternity until May and he doesn’t start pre school till next September so I know there’s loads of time. It’s just hard not comparing

Am I the problem?

Anyone realizing that you’re the problem in your relationship? We have a 6 month old, and since I was pregnant I questioned if I really loved my partner and truly wanted to be with him. He isn’t financially stable, not as healthy as I’d prefer, and I think he’s moody and stubborn. But he has no friends so he stays home and works on his dream which I admire.
Anyways I have caused a lot of drama in our relationship because I think I take out my anger on him.
I feel like I wanna cheat, be with other guys, be single, co-parent…
I even complain to myself about how he isn’t that attractive and I deserve a more attractive man and a rich man lol.
I’m like, am I lowkey a narcissist and selfish and mean!?
Anyone else feel like this… what do you do

Prepping for blackout

I don’t watch the news but my social media is full of people preparing for a blackout. Stocking cupboards and getting emergency essentials.
Who is actually doing this?
My husband said it’s crap and nothing will happen but a part of me thinks what if it does and we have nothing?
We have 2 kids and I would hate if it actually did happen and we had nothing and the shops were empty :(

People who have travelled with under 1 year baby please tell me if a 5kg carry on for baby and a separate only small diapers bag with a spare outfit some wipes is allowed? It’s for international travel. Thanks in advance x

3 month growth spurt ?

My baby is drooling a lot, touching his gums, sleeping 30 min naps, very sensitive and fussy, very congested at night, I have to use saline water and suction his boogies. Is all of these part of the 3 month growth spurt ? Teething? Or is he getting a cold again ? We just got off of a cold too … I want to take him to the pediatrician but my husband says that we will be exposing him to sick babies. Any advice ? 🙈
