Food suggestions for postpartum
Hey everyone! I’m coming on here to see if anyone has any suggestions for easy foods, snacks, and drinks I could have my husband pick up for me to keep in the bedroom while I recover postpartum.
Next week, on October 28th, I’m being induced and will finally get to meet our little boy! My doctor has told me that I’ll need to be on bed rest for a few weeks, only getting out of bed to use the bathroom. I want to make sure I have things available to eat and drink throughout the day, especially when my husband isn’t home and I get hungry.
We have a mini fridge in our bedroom, so I’m looking for easy snacks, drinks, and simple foods that I can keep nearby and eat without having to get out of bed or do much preparation.
If anyone has any recommendations for postpartum-friendly snacks, easy meals, or drinks that would be good to have on hand during recovery, I’d really appreciate it! I want to be as prepared as possible before our little man arrives so I can focus on healing and spending time with him. Thank you!

Do you have a crock pot? Frozen meal-prepped stuff that I could just dump in a crock pot and eat warm were a LIFESAVER for me. My husband made me lots of soups too. Lentil soup, cabbage soup, baked potato soup, zuppa toscana, chili, bone broths, etc. As for snacks I've been killing these beef liver chips we got off Amazon, and oatmeal raisin cookies for my sanity lol. Body armor and coconut water are great options for sipping throughout the day too. Above all I would say stock up on things you like!

meal prep some foods that you like that you can just heat up in the microwave. seriously, a life changer!
chili, breakfast casserole, lasagna, rice and chicken type mixture.
prioritize protein in every meal and keep some high protein snacks nearby as well. Beef sticks, protein bars/shakes, mixed nuts, trail mix/granola + yogurt, fruits. just whatever you like for snacks

Definitely recommend meat sticks. I ate so many during the first couple weeks after giving birth. It helped get some protein in and they were pretty yummy! Something that I didn’t do but wish I had was creating more breakfast stuff I could heat up easily such as breakfast sandwiches, egg bites, yogurt whatever you think you would like! I also ate a bunch of the honey stinger energy waffles(you can get these at Target). Another thing I would get is some sort of electrolytes to make sure that you’re staying super hydrated. I use the Gatorade packets!

Can I ask why you will be on bed rest?
I highly recommend meal prepping - there are a bunch of blogs that compile wonderful postpartum meals that are easy to prepare and full of nutrition. I ended up prepping a bunch of soups, enchiladas, lasagna and baked pastas, chickens that could go in the instant pot, breakfast sandwiches, smoothie pouches, etc. it’s always great to have easy things like protein bars, cheese and crackers, hummus and veggies, protein shakes, etc

In addition to meals, I cannot explain how much I have *craved* protein while doing feeds. I don't like meat sticks, but I've been eating so many of them. Babybel cheese. Some crackers, to balance it out. That's a lifesaving snack, right there.
Greek yogurt has also been great, but harder to eat during a feed. Probably going to order kids squeezy yogurt next shopping run.
Anyone’s husband still
play video games or is it just my husband? It’s such a turn off for me 🤢 He just started using an old phone to play a game on there but prior he would go to the basement anytime he could to play but now he just sitting around up here on the phone playing games and it’s so f*cking annoying. He literally spent two hours this morning that phone then took it with him to the bathroom to play while he used the bathroom now he’s literally standing in the kitchen playing while I brush my daughter’s hair.

I’m so sorry this isn’t really about my baby or motherhood. I’m a single mum to a little boy and I’ve been working my absolute arse off whilst i can get baby free time but i just feel like im constantly broke. i always make sure my baby has everything and ill do whatever I can to make sure he has what he needs and wants. so i got myself into debt. he’s just had his bday so that was klarna and clearpay used. When i became a single mum i had no where to go so i had a loan for hotel rooms. I used a credit card to replace all his clothes, toys, bottles, steriliser, cot, walker etc. i left with nothing and had to build it all back up again. I try as much as i can to make the monthly payments etc but it’s just not helping. does anyone know how to get help with this ? I’ve called the company’s but non of them seem to understand or hear me. It’s like talking to a wall. I know it seems silly but I truly just wanted best for my little boy in a really hard and 💩 situation.
Thank you for taking time to read 🩵

Hi, is it possible my 11 week old is teething? His cheeks are often quite red, nappies are wetter and he’s now sucking both his hands quite vigorously even though he’s just been fed.

If I spoon feed him it’ll take more than half a hour with MAXIMUM entertainment. If I blw he has maybe two mouthfuls on his own doing. He don’t even care if it’s sweet or savoury he will just not eat or want anything unless I force it.
Also he’s not teething. I’m so tired

My daughter has not long turned 17 months old and she won’t eat breakfast, won’t eat her lunch just won’t eat anything I give to her, I’m really struggling because she needs to eat something and she’s getting up multiple times a night likely because she’s hungry however refusing any kinds of food I give her, is anyone else dealing with this at all?
