Glucose test

You don’t eat before hand or during, you can have water and brush your teeth. No chewing gum or anything food wise.

Get there Drink the glucose drink and they take some blood before and after. Can’t remember if I did a urine sample. Then I went for a walk with a book came back and they took a small amount of more blood.

Fast for 8-10 hours before - you can only have water. Don’t take any medication in that time either if possible (and tell them when you get there if you have taken some). They’ll take a blood sample from you and then you drink a glucose drink. You then go and sit, trying not to walk around much, for 2 hours, at which point they’ll take another blood sample, then you can go. You should have the results by the end of the day. I had mine yesterday :)

Advice - take something to snack on for as soon as they’ve taken that second sample! I felt incredibly sick and dizzy throughout the two hours and needed something to eat before I felt I could safely leave
