Hi girls!

I’m very early, but constantly seeing videos online about health complications after birth. Deaths, clots, strokes etc… Its absolutely terrifying me. Anyone able to sort of help get that fear gone?🫣

Hey! All of that happens in rare cases. I had gestational diabetes and high blood pressure. Despite the risks, my pregnany went pretty smoothly! I ended up having an emergency c sec but there was no complications at all, and even 15 months later I'm still perfectly fine! Im also 8+5 days pregnant so it couldn't have been that bad! Honestly I get your worries, every mum worries about the what ifs. You know your body and your limit. If you ever want to drop a message, I'm here! You're not alone in being scared, it's scarier than people realise.

Hi Imogen, I really would recommend reaching out to your midwife. I have quite similar feelings and she has suggested some services they offer that can help. I think the feeling is a lot more common than people talk about.

I like to try and think ‘every single person is born and the amount of women that give birth every day’ which helps me put things into perspective a little bit.

I would also recommend staying off the social apps for a little while. I really struggle with health anxiety and sometimes I think the algorithm knows and just shows me all of my fears!

This is honestly one of the reasons I don’t have any social media at all. Peanut 🥜 only. It messes with my mental health! Be careful what you watch!
