Hey! My wife and I have our first IUI next week and it’s been such a long road to reach this moment and now I’m terrified! Any tips for coping with the two week wait, and all of the what ifs??

I have my IUI Next month too! Good luck!

Just try to relax, don’t stress do activities you love to keep your mind off it and get lots of rest!

Wishing you all good vibes! 🥰🥰

I did ivf but the tww is the same. I tried to have things planned to keep my mind off of it plus, some trashy magazines, and brain candy type of books that are easy to read when your brain is so distracted. Fingers crossed for you 🤞

Keep as busy as you can but also spend time relaxing if you feel you need it. Try not to symptom spot or Google every little thing, makes it ten times longer. It's so tough though! I conceived our little girl second try via IUI and just had a failed IUI trying for second bubba! Good luck and sending positive vibes 👍

My husband and I didnt convince until our second iui. Just be patient and try not to get too upset if it doesn't work out the first time. I was really upset when it didnt work the first time and my husband said it will happen when its time. Good luck!

Keep busy, especially with good self care. Do things that are good for a pregnant body, it will feel good to be hopeful. It’s I had 10 IUIs (9, but one was a double). It is normal to feel disappointed if the first one doesn’t take. I was lucky to have insurance that covered exactly 9 tries. We were really lucky that the 9th one worked! That was the most nerve racking TWW for me, next being the month we had to sit out due to overstimulation. Good luck!

The wait can be exciting and overwhelming. I’d treat each other as if these are the last two weeks when it’s all about just the two of you (because it just might be). Savor every day with your wife, as you will not have as much time for each other in a long time, once you become parents. Best of luck and fingers crossed :))

Keep busy and positive thoughts 💕

Hi I hope all goes well as someone who did 6 rounds and we lost hope it was really hard, but our last round we go pregnant. It’s so hopeful in that 2 weeks period I say just enjoy it!! Be in the moment

Avatar

Good luck!! IUI didnt work for us and we ended up doing IVF for each if our kids, but treatment is treatment and the tww ja the worst! Just stay as busy as possible, so it feels a little faster.

Relax, do everything the same as you would if you were not trying, try keeping yourself busy. With my first iui I had to study for exams along with managing a store and employees. By the grace of God my first iui worked and I’m now blessed with a 2 month old. Just try to keep things as normal as possible.

This is so exciting! My wife and I are trying to conceive through IUI also! Sending you tons of positive vibes 🖤🖤🖤🖤

Well what you should do is try to pretend there’s nothing happening and wait until at least 14 days after the IUI to even think about testing. What you will probably do is spend the whole time imagining symptoms and spend a lot of money on sticks to wee on.

We were lucky enough to be successful on our 3rd IUI first time and 2nd one this time. Both times the positive test showed a few days earlier using a First Response test.

The month I conceived was the one I most felt just as if my period was about to start.

Sending baby dust your way. My wife and I are on cycle 2 of in home insemination. I completely understand the dreaded 2wk wait

we did three rounds of IUI before we conceived. the first i was wrecked with nerves waiting and all i did was think about it... the second i was overstimulated so we never even got to the waiting point, just felt the disappointment... the third, we left town and took a vacation which took my mind off it and helped so much! i know that’s not an option for everyone, but try and find something to do together to keep your focus off it and on something else—whether it’s a trip somewhere, a weekend staycation, an afternoon of pampering, or even just something you guys like to do together whether it’s a hike, a bike ride, a nice dinner out. unfortunately it’ll always be in the background a bit... but putting your focus/energy into something else really helped me.

Hey!
Firstly, good luck and sending you sticky positive vibes.
The comments above are all right, keeping busy but with things good for the baby is the best thing. Avoid hot baths. Going for walks would be good. If your wife likes colouring in maybe get her a colouring in book? (My husband got my an IVF one off amazon, it kept me busy and was lots of fun)

Are you aware of the ‘traditions’?
McDonald’s chips after transfer. 🍟 Keep feet warm with fluffy socks 🧦
Eat pineapple core for 5days from day of transfer 🍍

Message me if you have any questions. And like before, good luck to you both 🍍

Lots of sticky baby dust to the both of you!!

I know it's hard we did 2 rounds of ivf and one round with a frozen embryo. Just know that you have each other, talk about everything. What helped me was something called a worry tree knowing what I could do to help and couldn't. Good luck to you both

Having gone through IUIs myself, find projects to distract yourself. With the holidays coming up I found myself trying to get crafty, baking, or planning a party. I know it's hard, just remember to be kind to yourself regardless of the outcome.

My husband and I conceived on our first IUI with our little miracle. Any questions don’t hesitate to message me :)

How exciting! I’m doing this as a single person. Much of my tribe is out of state (and I didn’t know about Peanut then) so... I set up a group chat with a close circle of friends and some family on WhatsApp. We counted the days. We shared music, thoughts, some people had dreams and posted that. Oh & lots of funny gifs & memes. My TWW turned out to be a 64 day wait so there were times when I wanted to vent and my beloveds where there for it all. It was great to have a space to be honest, vulnerable and funny with people that have known my for much of my life. Round #2 will be w/in the next couple of weeks and they’re all geared up. Now that you’re here on Peanut (I’m new here) I imagine there’ll be lots of advice & kind support along your journey. All the best to you and your wife next week!!!!

Stay positive hun, baby dust x

It took 9 rounds (10 IUI) for us. Literally all our insurance covered, but it worked! Stay positive my sisters!

I’m nervous I did my first IUI last month and now I’m doing my second next week

I did my first IUI last Friday. My blood test isn’t until next Friday. 🙏

Just like the Tom Petty song “The waiting is the hardest part!” Lol my husband and I have gone through 3 rounds of IUI about to start our 4th. It was super difficult not to think about it especially during Quarantine and the pandemic. If you can leave town and go on a little mini getaway and do stuff to get your mind off of it it does help. The 14 day wait period is the absolute WORST and so much goes through your head! Try to relax, watch a show that sucks you in and do things that keep your mind busy :-)

I saw your pregnant and I cried. I will have my first IUI next month

Avatar

Literally the best news I saw all day. Fingers crossed I can my IUI this month. Just waiting for my lovely friend to show and then I can start the medication and ultrasound. This will be our first attempt.

Avatar

I had my first IUI, just waiting for my blood result now! 🤞

Good luck everyone I’m waiting for AF to start and start my first IUI.

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

Pumping advise

FTM to a 2 week old! I’m breastfeeding and then giving one formula bottle last in the evening before bed. I want to start expressing milk to give me some breathing room and also allow my partner to be more involved in feeding. I’m finding the idea of introducing pumping into my day quite overwhelming though. I don’t want to take milk away from my baby by pumping if he needs it during the day when being breastfeed.

Can anyone advise how I start pumping and when to do it? Thank you!
