First trimester, first baby- trying to stay healthy& active but IM SO TIRED.

Im struggling ladies! I’m 6 weeks pregnant and absolutely exhausted. My boobs always hurt and I can’t fit any of my bras! I can see minor weight gain happening a little everywhere because I’ve been to lax on my cravings and sleeping ALL the time. I want to get ahead of the weight gain though- I’m vegetarian and trying to balance cravings and healthy foods. How do I gain motivation to work out and actually be consistent? I’m a professional dancer so I dance nearly everyday but that’s honestly not a work out anymore after how long I’ve been doing it. I really want to stay fit during my pregnancy but with my boobs being so sensitive to running and jumping and me being so tired I’m struggling super hard. Help!!

Do you take pregnancy vitamins ? I find they help and eat little and often for little bursts of energy I'm 14 weeks and I have been exhausted since the beginning lol ! But it eases off and gets better xx

First trimester is like that you feel exhausted i used to have to sleep at work lol second trimester you will start getting your energy back

I’m very exhausted as well 11/1 I literally sleep the entire day away I’m thankful that most of my early symptoms morning sickness nausea has subsided but I’m so very exhausted and I have headaches and get lightheaded and dizzy

Sadly I think that’s just how the first trimester is. Lol Make sure you’re taking your prenatal and eating lots of greens and protein. That helped me a ton, even though I had to choke down most of the food because I just wanted to throw it up 😂 but trust me, the second trimester will be so much better! Praying you have a happy and healthy pregnancy 🙏🏻💕

Let your body rest and get sleep :)

Just eat smaller means more often, that's what helped me the most

I thought I’d have such a fit and healthy pregnancy too, but that didn’t happen. I still ate well, but exercise was down to yoga 1x a week starting in trimester 2. Trimester 1 was all about survival and staying awake. I haven’t beat myself about it at all. I’m 39 weeks right now and haven’t gained much excess body fat - I did gain about 35lbs but it’s mostly belly and I’m feeling really good and confident about every. Just happy to have had a great pregnancy and healthy baby :) Don’t be too hard on yourself!

EAT FOOD! It's so helpful.

Drink lots of water, and eat lots of greens and veggies. Honestly a healthy diet is the biggest thing for staying healthy during pregnancy and after. As far as exercise goes, maybe try to go walking or light jogging instead of running, and do light weight lifting, squats, lunges.. things that are easier on your body so you don’t get exhausted as fast. Just staying active in general is great!

Just give in to the sleep, don't fight it, you will feel better in the second trimester. I was very nauseated and constantly tired in the first trimester, had to give up smoking and caffeine (coffee made me so sick) and had headaches constantly (working full time). I kept working out until 35 weeks but my work out friend kept me going. I was doing several classes a week but it helps if you enjoy it. Food wise, I love food and gain tje majority of my pregnancy weight in the first 4 months but make sure you eat a lot nuts, fruits fresh and dried and have a treat every now and again. You most certainly deserv it after what you are going through. Enjoy as it will go so quickly 😊

Also drink plenty of water, it should become your new best friend and I mena PLENTY. You should be drinking a cup of water every hour or so. If you drink tea or coffee, you need to dring the equivelent of it in water on top of your daily amount. It will make you wee even more but will flush out all the toxins from your body.

I gained upfront and at the end but really slow in the middle. Do what you’re body is telling you ... if you’re hungry eat, tired sleep just be aware and you’ll be fine!

First trimester took a toll on me. It was like getting hit by a truck 😞 i slept and vomited all day long! I wish i could have eaten or gotten cravings instead lol i couldn’t even smell my own perfumes or lotions. I was told by my doctor to not add work outs I wasn’t already doing, and to sleep as much as i could because it’s temporary! By month 4 you’ll feel energized and ready to nest HARD

Same here! All my gorgeous perfumes made me want to gag!!! I had all those same symptoms first trimester and second trimester was just bliss! ♥️

Zofran has saved me and I’ve actually stuck to my workout routine despite being tired. Zofran seems to keep me feeling human. You might just have to force it. I know I do sometimes.

I’m also a vegetarian and my boobs started hurting from day 1. I bought nipple cream and I wear two bras to the gym. I wake up religiously at 5am and go to my bootcamp workout at 5:30am. I never stopped going and I’m currently 25 weeks. It’s just something I’ve always done so I still do. It’s harder now to get through the entire workout and I’ve slowly been incorporating swimming and yoga into my routine now that my belly has popped. You can do it. Just sign up for a class at a specific time so you can’t back out. The earlier the better. So you can’t say you’re too tired.

I could not stay out of bed my entire first trimester! I went to work and went straight to bed. My husband had to wake me up to eat but I could only stomach toast and peanut butter, maybe soup once in a while. You should eat what your body is asking for (within reason). You may feel much more energetic after the first trimester (I did!) and can up your activity then. For now don't stress about any of it. Our bodies are designed to adapt and recover before, during and after pregnancy.

Same! I lived off green grapes and pb&j sandwiches!!! With the occasional chicken noodle or lentils oh and bananas That was it

A little bit of exercise is better than none! You might have to lower your standards for now. Figure out how much daily exercise you can realistically handle and you'll realistically stick to. It will probably be much less than before but just accept that's where you're at and follow your new reduced routine every day. That's my advice. Dont beat yourself up because you cant work out the same as before pregnancy, and do what you can realistically handle even if it's a small amount. I also could not work out as much as I wanted due to pgp and exhaustion.

Girl, you are in survival mode at this point! Within reason, just eat what you can stomach and take a nap if you can! There is no tired like that first trimester tired!! 😴 It will get better!!

I could have written this myself..... these issues are actually why I got on this app. I’m 9 weeks and the fatigue is killing me!! I’m so unbelievably tired all the time, I’m not exercising/working out the way I used to because I need to sleep, my appetite has increased, and I just wanted to see if this level of fatigue and exhaustion was normal this early along.

Soooo normal. I’ve never felt more tired than I did in first trimester. I could sleep for 12h, wake up and go straight back to a deep sleep?! Our bodies are amazing

Don’t fight your exhaustion it’ll just make it worse. Get your rest because your body really needs it more than usual.

It’ll go away in your second trimester....I slept for weeks, had to give in because when I would push my body to keep going how I regularly did before I was pregnant it made everything so much worse.

No help on the weight part because I packed it on and liked packing it on but here to say it all gets better after the first trimester. During the first trimester I probably slept 90% of the time and my boobs only felt sore in the beginning after I was fine

I was too

I'm 17 weeks and this month I'm just now starting to have some energy some days. I try to take a nap most days. It'll pass but it's tough.

I was exhausted throughout my pregnancy and will admit to not being the healthiest eater. Instead of putting too much pressure on me I made sure I drank loads of water, took my pregnancy vitamins and ate at least 2-3 fruit and veg(not great I know) before lunch. Naked fruit drink really helped too. Luckily I didn't really have cravings. My partner jammed as much veg as he could in our dinner meals. Don't beat yourself up too much. As long as baby is healthy and growing you'll be OK.

Be easy on yourself and rest when your body says so. First trimester is rough, so you can ramp up activity in the second when you feel better

Switch to a maternity bra!!!!! My boobs hurt my entire pregnancy and getting a maternity bra without wires saved my girls. They were so huge( I was a 34DDD before being pregnant) and was a F/G during pregnancy and pumping. I'm petite so my boobs look even more crazy huge. They also make maternity sports bras. I didn't have the energy to work out and I ate everything in sight. I had a complicated pregnancy and was forbid from working out at 20 weeks.

Oh sleep as much as you can. You'll get energy back in the 2nd trimester but you'll get really tired again in the 3rd. Also once baby is born you won't remember what sleep was like so nap as much as possible.

Coming from someone who has always cared about my overall health and staying in shape- The first 12 weeks of my pregnancy I literally lived off of salt and vinegar chips, Gatorade, and ginger chews. Don’t be too hard on yourself! Your body is doing the most outrageous thing it can possibly do. Rest when you’re tired, eat when you’re hungry, and don’t sweat it if your workouts aren’t as regular as they were before pregnancy! A little exercise goes a long way 💓

I feel you i was the same at 6 weeks I still am at 14 weeks I feel super tired and the naisea is stillt here! I'm a first time mom and can't wait for this baby to come😭♥️ we got this mama just a few more weeks ♥️

Oh and also with my boobs hurting first thing I did was try a new maternity bra they are super comfy and supportive try the ones at Motherhood maternity ! And at 11 weeks I even took maternity jeans🙈 just ome simple advice would be take rest because you need it you're growing a completely new human inside of you you deserve the extra care and rest♥️

I’m 10 weeks and extremely tired too 😴 Hoping the Christmas holidays will help me gain some energy. But I don’t have any other symptoms (nausea, cravings...) 🤔

I would say limit your dancing if you still do. That's true, your body just want to rest and sleep. Listen to it, even if it's uncomfortable to be less active, but this will give you energy later in 2nd trimester. And drink water
