Two Under Two

I’ve been gone a while in maternity leave and I just wanted to check in here.

What are everyone’s tricks and tips for getting things done with kiddos. I’m finding it much harder with two now. Sometimes I just want to eat! Haha. But I only have two hands, so...

I’d love to have someone who comes over just for short times. Or figure out a great way to balance it all on my own. It’s tough!

So what’s your technique? Does anyone use a regular sitter?

I mostly am stay at home mama. If you ever need a day or 2 a week to have someone come over and give s hand so you can relax, give me a shout! Would love to help out a mama of 2 babies! I know how hard it can be.
Make sure you get some mama time alone. Only way to keep sanity! 😊

A modular gate that I use to separate the living area from kitchen/dining. I'm using it last now that my youngest is 15 months, but it's great for allowing them a safe space to play while I do things like cook dinner or run upstairs real fast.

I try to set them up with snacks and toys before I get started on anything. The golden time for getting stuff done is when they're both sleeping!

Breast feeding - should I give up

My little lady is 11 days old and I have been combi feeding her with breast and formula.
To keep my supply I have been pumping around 3 times a day as baby girl isn’t always keen on the boob. ( always offer boob before formula) I have also been giving her bottles of my breast milk.
My boobs have been tender since I started but today I have never felt pain like it. My right boob I can’t even touch. It’s so sore and I have a big bruise on the side. Feeling a bit deflated and feeling to just give up as it’s just far too painful!

Any tips?

Refusing room temperature milk

My 4 month old suddenly won’t drink expressed milk that’s been sat at room temperature. He will only drink it when I heat it up. Anyone else had that?

8 week old still not taking 4oz 🫠

I don’t know what we’re doing wrong, again 😅
LO will not take more than 4oz sometimes 3oz at every feed. I try to extend the feed window to around 3 hours which is a push and then she just takes that amount.
She is on nitramigen milk which apparently doesn’t taste as nice as normal milk, so don’t know if she’s just taking what she needs, but even in the day I do my best to keep her busy to try and extend her feed window but nothing seems to be working as she boots off at every opportunity til she’s fed 🤷‍♀️😭😆
I know every baby does their own thing but I thought she’d have increased by now.
Also not sure if she has reflux as any bigger amount like 4oz she will be slightly sick after it (only a mouthful).

Anyone else in a similar boat or have any advice?
