Travel with breastfed baby

I am a new mom about to go on a small road trip (driving) with my breast fed baby. Any tips and advice on how to make this easy? What I need to bring, ect?

So so so cute.

I just did a 5 hour trip and we stopped every hour and a half to feed bubs. I just made sure to wear a maternity bra and a nursing top so I could whip it out easily. I fed her once in the car and then once again at a road stop with a muslin to hand to hide myself while she latched.
So much easier than faffing with a bottle!

I think breastfeeding on any trip is much easier than carrying all the equipment needed to prepare formula bottles!😝 the only thing you need is some nursing bras and tops to have easy access to the boob

Just stop every couple hours stretch a little check baby’s diaper make sure she’s all clean and then I just breast in my car when on the road so much easier

I just got done with a 10 hour road trip with my newborn and I am breastfeeding as well.
I wore a nursing tank top and fed my baby in the car. I was more comfortable and I know my car is clean rather than taking my baby into some store. I have a small car so changing him was difficult but I brought a towel that I put on the seat and changed him in my back seat.

I did a 13 hr trip with my 2 month old a few weeks ago. She basically slept the whole ride. We would get out every 2 hours to stretch, diaper change and feed. 😁

Breastfeeding help

I'm struggling to understand how people do this 😭

I'm on day 3 and my nipples feel like they've been cut with glass. I cannot get baby to latch well. I've had advice from midwives and they've helped me multiple times now, and I always manage when they help, but as soon as I'm left to do it myself I just cannot get baby to latch deep enough and its so painful.

I tried expressing so I could still have milk to give baby but I'm not making enough milk yet for that to even be worth it tbh.

She wants to feed every 5 minutes, I can't keep up. My breasts feel empty and soft and she still wants to feed. I know this is because she's making my supply increase but it's constant. I can't do anything else, i can't put her down for anything, not even to go pee.

I have a toddler too and I'm just feeling tremendous amounts of guilt for not being able to even have 5 minutes to cuddle him 😔

How does this get better??? Please help!

Favorite silly/random mom hack?

One of my recent ones: the little plastic containers that some pacifiers are sold in, which are meant for steam sterilizing in the microwave, are the perfect size for a menstrual disc 🙈 what is one thing you’ve found that makes your life the tiniest bit easier/more convenient as a mom?

Nighttime

Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience?

Our baby has just turned 5 months and 1 week old. He’s always been great at going to sleep in the evening. We do our usual routine and put him down in the next to me. Even throughout the 4 month regression he went down perfectly. However the past 3 nights he has been hysterically crying when we put him down. We don’t want to pick him up and undo what he’s learnt, but often have had no choice as he’s been so unhappy. Is anyone else experiencing the same or got any advice? 😭

Infacol

Thoughts on the use of infacol before feeds please? My baby isn’t great at burping after feeding but also a bit reluctant to give him artificial rubbish to help

PPD

Can someone who has been through postpartum depression tell me how long it lasts? How can you tell what is normal hormone change and what is PPD? I’m struggling with intrusive thoughts like leaving my husband and baby or giving up my baby for adoption and obviously these are distressing to me. I already struggle with bipolar disorder.

When did your child start sleeping through?

If they didn’t sleep through the night within the first 12 months, when did they sleep through?

Asking for a friend - myself 😂😴
