Stubborn baby!😅

At my 12 week scan the midwife was really shocked at how stubborn my baby was with rolling over. We tried absolutely everything!
Yesterday we had a private scan at 16 weeks and he was even more stubborn and wouldn’t roll over even after fizzy drinks, squats, jumping and everything else. In the picture it looks like he’s elbowing the camera away!😅
Anyone else had a stubborn baby at scans and how did you manage to get them to roll over? Would love to see more than his back and bum at the next scan😂

Lol 🤣 I had the same thing happen at my 20 week scan. They gave me juice, made me roll from one hip to another. The tech then tried rubbing the wand around my belly - finally she grabbed part of my hips and shook them like Shakira. My husband was dying laughing and our son still just presented his butt to us. I'm going back for another scan this week so they can get the rest of the shots they need.

My baby has been stubborn at EVERY scan. I move around, drink juices, do jumping jacks, EVERYTHING lol and she just stays snuggled up in a little cocoon the whole time. I even had to repeat my anatomy scan 3 separate times to get all the angles they needed. 😂

Avatar

This happened at my 12 week scan, baby wouldn’t move, was facing away from camera! Was told to jump, shake hips and everything and nothing would work! I lay down and she told me to shake my hips mid air side to side and finally it flipped around but didn’t see any wriggles! I must have a lazy baby too; although since 17/18 weeks it doesn’t stop moving now 😂 xx

not totally practical or ideal but try getting dad to blow raspberries quite hard on your stomach
used to make my little one fidget around for ages 😅

Avatar

I’m 33 weeks and I’m total had 8 scans and put it this way none have had a decent picture. She’s so stubborn I have tried everything to get her to move she’s having none of it. Last week for a growth scan and still wouldn’t move! I just hope she comes out easier than it is to have her picture taken🤦🏼‍♀️ good luck x

Avatar

My baby was so stubborn at our 20 week scan! What’s usually an hour appointment max, took us three hours 😅

Avatar

We had two 20 weeks scans because of this and both times had to give up in the end, nothing would make little one move, was disappointing for my husband as it was the only scan he was allowed in to but not much you can do unfortunately xx

Avatar

Mine was at my 12 week scan. I ended up bending knees up on bed then thrusting pelvis up and down. It did the trick 2nd time around haha! So stubborn though x

Avatar

Let me tell u: as soon as they put the jelly on my belly my baby girl throws a FIT 😂😂. She does not like to be bothered at alllll. Then after the appts she always punishes me by kicking me soo hard lol. I already know she gone be a pain at all doc visits when she gets here so ima leave those appts to daddy

Avatar

Every scan my daughter was sat mooning at us 🤣🤣🤣 she wassnt shy in there. God help me! Lol they had me in lots of side positions to scan properly.

Avatar

This happened to me at both of my scans they even had me jogging up and down the corridor 😂 in the end they had to have me on my side with the bed having me head down as far as it will go to try reangle every thing

Avatar

Literally me at 19 weeks ultrasound. This bum was face planted and wouldn't shift for anyone lol

Avatar

I had exactly the same thing at my 12 week and then we did a private one at 17 weeks and she would not co operate! Had my 20 weeks scan 2 weeks ago and had to go back today so they could get measurements for her brain. I had a chocolate bar and some lucozade just before which seemed to do the trick and they managed to get what they needed just before she flipped over and wouldn’t move! So stubborn 😂 x

Avatar

Just had mine today and my bby girl was being so cute not cooperating at all it was my gender ultrasound

Avatar

Mine did the exact same! She would actually kick them off of me.😂 shes still just as stubborn now lol

Avatar

I didn't get a pic of my baby until last week which was 25 weeks. We had tried 4 previous times before that.

Avatar

All my scans have been like this baby facing backwards and no intentions of turning around and legs crossed each of my last 2 scans. I have a private at home scan next week to hopefully find out gender hopefully baby cooperates 🥴😂🙄

Avatar

Yup literally every ultrasound with my son! The only thing he would show was his boy parts! Lol 😆

Avatar

I had my early gender scan today and I was told to do star jumps because my baby boy is stubborn too! My partner recorded me too🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️😂

Avatar

I did! The ultrasound tec jiggled my belly I talked and my fiancé talked. Sometimes it worked and others it didn’t 🤷🏼‍♀️

Avatar

Mine is like that, he hates being messed with even now and I’m being induced tomorrow. He even kicks the midwives when their feeling my tummy. It’ll get easier though the further you get along

Avatar

Update on my side we went back today to try a second time to get the shots we needed. I chugged some sugar, ate a piece of cheesecake and jumped around. We managed to get all the shots but one - little guy kept trying to eat his foot 👣 during the session. Since they couldn't get that last shot I now need to have an ultrasound at the hospital next week. The doctors said not to worry and I'm low risk but that momma worry is creeping up on me.

Avatar

My son was stubborn at every scan. Either would hide what they needed to see or wouldn't stay still enough. Now he's 3 months old and doesn't stop wiggling until he passes out 😂 Nothing ever worked to get him in the right position except hoping for the best, but it does get easier the further along you get, they have less room to hide.

Avatar

My daughter was the same way haha

Avatar

I had a stubborn baby. When I had the ultrasound done. He had his hand on his feet. The person that was taking it had to push his hand away from his feet. He would not let her.

Avatar

It took us 45 minutes because she would not stay still. The ultrasound tech would have to jiggle the camera on my belly and sometimes it would work others it wouldn’t 🤷🏻‍♀️ lol I have my next one on Monday, they do mine every 4 weeks because I’m high risk.

Avatar

Mine was super stubborn lol

Avatar

Yup!! I’ve had to do 3 extra ultrasounds 😂 they say baby is going to really love tummy time ❤️

Avatar

I had to go back twice for my 12 week scan and both times it took at least 45 mins as Bub just wouldn’t shift. Or would, and then go straight back to showing us it’s bottom 🤣 nightmare! But they got the images eventually. Got my 20 week next week so we’ll see whether it’s the same story x

Avatar

Ice cold water helps :) but drink 5min before you lie down

Avatar

Haha I had this the whole way through to the point we couldn’t tell the gender for soo long. I used to eat a cinnamon donut and go for a walk to get her to move around but it didn’t really work!

Avatar

I found drinking hot chocolate helped with scans x

Avatar

I had no problems with getting the pictures. But my daughter kicked a few nurses.

Avatar

Mine crossed her legs on the gender scan and hid her face on the anomaly scan😂

Avatar

Mine refused to turn for the anatomy scan so had to go back a week later and she was being stubborn then too but for different body parts. At the end she didn't want to turn to show her spine for the growth ultrasound. She also decided to grace us 9 days late

Avatar

My daughter wouldn't move for anything but my pregnancy now my baby won't stop 😂

Avatar

Mine was the same! 😅 We arrived for the ultrasound at 9am and left almost 2pm! My Baby was always showing his back. The doctor asked me to leave and walk 3 times! I ate chocolates and jiggled. It was very hard to get a profile image. Finally on the 4th attempt she was able to get a profile image for about 30 seconds and the baby went on his back again!
Very stubborn!

Avatar

Casey hahah such cutie pie!!

Avatar

My baby girl always trying to avoid to see her face see covered even see kicking me like to let us know that we are annoying her..

Avatar

Oh my little . When we want to see the gender aswell my gosh how shy he is 😂 showing his bum bum to the nurse thats doing the scanner and like showing his sexy back . Its a lady nurse thats why his shy 😂

Avatar

Yes! My baby is super active, doing somersaults and backflips during every scan. Most of our pics are of her back. I guess she’s camera shy just like her mama. 😆

Avatar

My daughter tried to be born 3 months early. Doctors stopped my labor but expected me back soon to deliver. Was told not many preterm labors that are stopped go full term. Well my daughter was the exception. Not only did I make it full term but she was almost 2 weeks late. I had to be induced because she decided that since we wouldn't let her come when she wanted then she was gonna stay put

Avatar

Took us 3 appointments to do all our anatomy checks at 20 weeks 😂 we left her sex a surprise until birth and I was so convinced because of her stubbornness she had to be a boy so through my whole pregnancy I kept saying “he” when talking about our little one so man oh man I was shocked when they showed me a little girl had popped out 😂

Avatar

Mines has been exact same for every scan too hes a bugger 😅 xxx

Avatar

Dude same thing happened to me for the NT scan LOL, and today I went in for gender and she was trying to get a profile picture and he/she would not budge… so I had to jump around, than he/ she stuck their tongue out at us once he/she complied 💀💀

Avatar

Orange juice 30 minutes to an hour before your scans. My baby was stubborn too. I tried orange juice and it helped x

Avatar

Both my kids were really really hard to scan. I had to reschedule an ultrasound with my first, because they just couldn't get a good enough look at her.

Avatar

Definitely was my case but got lucky when I did a “private sonogram”. Baby did that every doctors visit then one week or maybe two I felt her sideways next doctor visit she was head down in the position needed for birth. Babies have plenty of room to move around but guess there’s a few that prefer that position.

Avatar

Mine only wanted to show her bum or tummy, the first scan eventually we got a little wave but that was after almost every trick possible. Im sure they know when we want them to help is and behave for the scan

Avatar

All my girl did was hide her face and rub her eyes or something. Just got lucky in the 21 weeks scan and thats the single picture I have of her until I really hold her in my arms😄😍

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Baby with chronic congestion

Hi everyone! My 1 year has been a congested baby since birth almost. She breathes through her mouth so often that it wakes her up multiple times at night and she cries and screams and then struggles to go back to sleep. She wakes up every 1-3 hours and sometimes can’t go back to sleep for 2-3 hours!!! Piriton is the only thing that seems to help her sleep mostly through the night but I can’t keep giving her that!!
Does anyone have tips as to have I can do or give her? Has anyone experienced? I have no idea when I’ll get an ENT appointment and I have no idea what he can give a 13 mo :( we are desperate for sleep so any tips are welcome!! We have tried steam inhalation, saline drops, vapour rubs and everything off the counter basically!

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?
