C Section due to low lying placenta

Hi Guys, I’ve just been told that I need to have a c section with my first due to my placenta reaching across the cervix. To make it worse, the only date they have is in my 38th week which is apparently a little earlier than they recommend. I feel quite sad about it as I really wanted to have a natural birth and I’m starting to worry about having a bond with the baby when they come out. I’m also worried that breast feeding will be difficult. I just have the feeling that my body has failed. I’ve had 3 miscarriages prior to this baby so I’ve spent the whole pregnancy over cautious and now panicking that I’m going to struggle. I can’t seem to find any stories of people who’ve had an unwanted elective before rather than an emergency section or planned? Has anybody else had this and could they give me any reassurance or stories that they’ve gone through!

Hey girl! I am almost 24 weeks and i met with my delivering doctor today. He told me I have placenta previa. He seemed set on the c section, even though im really hopeful it will move. I am bummed out too that I may have to do the c section. Nothing against them, I just share your fears about thr baby breastfeeding, etc. My grandma had my dad in the 50s and she had the same condition. She had him naturally and hemorrhaged, but at the end they both came out healthy, she went on to have 3 more kids, so I have faith in us!!

Hi. Yeah we’ve got to have a c section, only got a few weeks left and it’s not moved out the way so we’ve been told there’s no chance they’re letting me deliver and so got a date for next week. I’m just so worried that I’m going to get post natal depression because I’ve been so apprehensive about bonding because we’ve had so many losses and I really thought I’d have the birth to realise it’s all happening and now I’m not getting that! So I’m a bit heart broken!xxx
