We are looking at trying for Baby #2 and my OB said we will have to schedule my C-Section for 36 weeks.
The reason is due to the fact I had a horrendous birth with my first baby girl which ended up with me having an emergency C-Section with a vertical and horizontal incision which means my uterus is very weak. Any contractions in a second pregnancy would be very bad.
Regardless, any mamas here have some advice to prepare for a 36 weeker? Breastfeeding?!

i think you are classed as full term from 36 weeks! i’d do what’s advised by the doctors as they know best xx
good luck 🤞🏻 xxx

mine was 36 weeks! depending on how big your baby measures have some premie gear! my little one was almost two months by the time she made it to newborn

Do your research, get second and third opinions. Take your you and your baby’s health into your own hands and never blindly believe anything. Question everything, ask for alternatives, use the B.R.A.I.N method!❤️

I had my first naturally at 36 weeks. Luckily he was healthy and breathing good on his own. He was also 7lbs 11oz. I had premie stuff but couldn’t use it, lol. He did have jaundice and had to stay under the lights for 5 days but then we were discharged. Good luck!

I had my daughter at 35 weeks. There are lots of things they can do to plan for the early delivery!

Our wee one was born at 36weeks. He was a teeny 4lbs 11oz. Definitely get some size 0 nappies and preemie clothes. He’s six months now and just starting to fit into 0-3m stuff.

I had my first at 36 weeks due to risk of preeclampsia. My baby came out 6lbs 4oz. He went home with me when I left also!

36 weeks is still classed as premature, if you can hold on til 37 I would try to. My little boy was born at 36 weeks however and was fine. He was tiny (5lb exactly) and spent 6 days in transitional care for antibiotics and then for phototherapy for jaundice. He’s 18m now and thriving.

I did naturally and breastfed for 2 years. My little one was 5lbs 5 xx

I had my twins at 34 weeks one was 4lbs 13oz other 4lb 16oz

I had mine at scheduled c section at that time frame bc I was showing signs of preeclampsia, he was alrdy 9 pounds, he came out just fine and I breastfed just fine, going on 16months now

I have to have my baby girl at 36 weeks because I have placenta previa, and I know there’s no guarantee if she will have to have nicu time or not..but I am just praying for the best and as long as I get to take a healthy baby home with me at the end of it all, that’s all that matters!! My doctor has been very helpful and comforting throughout the whole process, thank goodness..because when I first found out I was terrified.

I had my twins at 35 weeks due to high blood pressure. They didn’t have any NICU time 😊 They are now 9 months old and we are still successfully breastfeeding. Breastfeeding was a bit of a challenge in the beginning and I had to do top off’s with bottles after breastfeeding because they were not strong enough to take full meals from the breast by themselves since they were born early. After a month of that they graduated to being exclusively breastfed. I recommend working with a lactation consultant, they helped me reach my goals of exclusively breastfeeding. 😊 good luck mama!

I went into labor at 36 weeks and had him at 36 weeks and 2 days

Baby will be fine at 36 weeks. They may suggest a steroid shot to boost lung development. Perhaps ask if there’s anything you can do to boost babies weight?❣️

My daughter was born at 36 weeks. My water broke and they had warned me she could have issues with her lungs due to her coming early, we were super lucky and she came out healthy and chunky!

Hi baby 1 was 34 weeks, he had a birth defect which i knew about from 16 weeks and needed operating on at birth he weighed 4lb. Baby was 35+5 weeks, due to gestational diabetes and reduced movement. She weighed 6lb. I would say start expressing now. And freeze anything you can get. It will help your baby when they arrive. Xx

Baby #2 was born exactly 35 weeks and she had some minor trouble controling body temp and breathing but after some skin to skin and some observation she was perfect(small but perfect) and even went home when I did

My second came at 36 weeks and was labeled “preterm,” even though he was 7lbs and 5 Oz and 20 inches. He was fine when he came out, but they still had to do heart testings and car seat tests and a bunch of other tests only because of that “preterm” label.” Also, I think they weren’t able to test for GBS or they tested and it was positive? I can’t remember what happened, but I ended up getting antibiotic IV drip during labor and they tried to make us stay a couple extra days to make sure the blood cultures come back negative. But since I worked on the hospital, I was able to talk my OB and pediatrician in to letting us go home early :)
Feeding was like how it was with my first. I think my flow came a little sooner though, because I was more prepared this time around and included Mother’s tea in my daily regimen pre and post.
Anyway, good luck and congrats :)

Two of mine were born 36 and 6 and both were fine. They may keep baby an extra day or two just to make sure they are healthy and strong enough to leave but it shouldn’t be too big of a deal. Best of luck on the healing process (sounds like you’ve had a harder experience already so be prepared for that)❤️❤️❤️

Had my son at 36 weeks on the dot. 5lb 4oz. I had 2 steroid shots & delivered vaginally. He’s healthy. No NICU stay . He didn’t latch well so I did combo feeding with formula and pumped breast milk.

I had my twins at 32 weeks i didn't breastfeed because i didn't want to. But my milk didn't even come through until they was 5 days old. There 1 next week and perfect good luck ❤️💙

Waters broke at 36 weeks exactly with my son and he was here within about 12 hours weighing 6lb 9. He did need nicu due to breathing difficulties then developed treatment levels of jaundice so ended up staying in for a week but only in nicu/special care for 2 days. I found it hard feeding him by cup (so that he would then want to breastfeed) and didn't receive enough help in trying to get him latched but I did syringe colostrum to him and started pumping which I did for about a month before I just stopped producing so he then went on to formula. He's now nearly 3 and is fit and healthy. I'm not sure if it's easiest knowing they will be early as I felt so unprepared by it all and think that combined with not having skin to skin for 24 hours made the first week or so very hard bonding wise.

I will have a c section at 36 weeks as well. I’m going to have her at a children’s hospital due to being high risk and they said it will be totally fine.

I had my son via csection at 36 weeks as I had pre eclampsia. I had steroid injections before and he weighed 5lb 5. Spent 5 days in the NICU due to some gastro problems but overall he was healthy x
